Airbag Error - Warning Light and MFD Message

Featured Replies

Hi, chaps,

I whipped the Columbus out the other day to inspect the connections at the back.  Removing the surround entailed unclipping the passenger airbag lead, but I returned it when I reassembled.

I'm now getting "Airbag Error" on the MFD - it's still there after a number of drives and restarts.

Any ideas?

Grateful for your assistance.

Did you unplugged the battery when you were dealing with airbag connector?

Have you tried erasing the airbag error through VCDS? Because once the airbag error is on, it will stay on until reseting (erasing) it on VCDS.

No - the battery stayed connected.

I'll erase it with VCDS as you say; I'm just concerned in case there genuinely IS a problem.

Thanks for the reply.

If you clear the code with VCDS and there is a genuine fault the code and the light will come back on.

That's right, but hopefully nothing undesired happened if you just unplugged and replugged the connector.

Try VCDS and let us know the outcome

Yup; I've cleared it via VCDS.

Just been out for a drive and no sign of its return.
