After 3 months of owning the car from new, decided on a set of H&R springs for my TSI DSG.

If you're unsure about getting these, or have any doubts, you needn't worry, it rides so much better, less podgy body roll, while maintaining a decent ride, it was quite on the harsh side with the 19's and Pirellis anyway, but the biggest improvement is the looks. Should have came out the factory like this.

I'll measure it when it settles a little more. Looks that way though. Looks more than the advertised 25mm drop

That does look great although the 19's can't be the most comfortable on broken road surfaces.

Yeah 20mm rear spacers next, rear anti roll bar and a custom cat back. I might leave it alone then haha

Dave I have exactly the same car as you. That looks spot on! Like you say, how it should have looked coming out the factory. Where did you buy the springs?

Looks the business now. What a difference they've made. Would you say the ride is more harsh than before? We have a baby and that's the only thing that worries me about getting mine done.

We have a 10 week old baby too and a 4 yr old (she helped fit them) and the H&R's are superb. Just do it. 150 quid ish and it is better than standard. I've gone for 12mm spacers all Round. I do have some H&R 20mm bolt to hub ones if you want some

I have a 8 month old, to me it's the same as before, I'd say over sustained bad bumps it obviously reacts quicker. I think with the 19's it's always on the firm side anyway, but no way is it uncomfortable

Please send through costs for springs and spacers if you do them?  Also, do you fit them?  I have to collect my new vRS Estate from Preston and will be driving past on the way home

I've these on my Fabia. Trust me they are far more needed on that than on the vRS (unless that is already more sporty compared to other models!).

 

I don't plan to rush into any modifications on the octy vrs, its just such a good car as it is, all the hassle with insurance, warranty etc.

 

That said I can warrant the H&R are pretty good bits of kit from my Fabia and it does sit well as above.
