Hi @kacluk

Can you share details around how you coded it using ODB11 an how you ran the cables?

Cheers.

sorry for replying so late.

So as for the coding, it's a very simple job.

My skoda is 2.0 tdi dsg 2016.

when you connect to obd eleven, you need to enter CONTROL UNITS and then you are interested in the MULTIMEDIA 5F and PARKING ASISTANCE 76 modules.

LET'S START WITH MODULE 5F:
You enter the long coding option and look for Byte19_rear_Viev_low and change the options to Acvivated.

then you go to module 76 and with the same long coding you look for the camera type option.
you can try to enter these options in obd11 without connecting to the car

I hope I helped you. if i am from corby / kettering area and i can help if you need to.

Thanks for replying ... did you route the cable in the headliner (I guess taking care around the airbags) or did you route in under the door sills ?

I started lining cable from radio control unit form behind the glove box and then along the door skills (without removing them) and then behind the back seat and then in the back left corner to get to the roof all should be clear from the attached photos

Great pics thanks ... did you use a fish tape or something to route under the door sills ? I guess the headliner would be easier but I'd like to avoid the airbags ... just incase.

Sorry, maybe I explained something wrong, because I led my cable at the bottom of the doors. Under the beige plastic door covers (not sure how it is called inEnglish). Please see pics.

Got it thanks

No problem. I hope you can do everything from my photos. Let me know how everything will work.

The worst thing is to connect the camera's power supply.

I didn't want the camera to have power all the time, so I was trying to connect to the cable bundle and find those from the reversing lights

I fitted a reverse camera to my Octavia but I can't find any detail on how to remove the boot trim on the superb with a power tailgate ... it doesn't appear to have the plastic rivets that the Octavia does and I'm worried about damaging the power button if I just start pulling.

I have a workshop manual but it doesn't mention the power button ... I'd rather not break anything ... anyone ever removed the trim with the power button?

On this post, part of the description and images show how to remove the panels (upper and lower).  I used this to fit my rear dashcam, and it was fine taking the panels off, but need two of us to get the panels back on.

Hi,

I followed the instructions in this thread, and I have fitted a reversing camera to my  2017 Superb TDI 190 L&K. All wiring is complete, I just to need to get the coding sorted.

Is there anyone near to me (I'm in Peterborough) who would be prepared to do the coding on my car ?

I'd be quite happy to pay for time and would travel, up to say 50 miles .

If you can help, please let me know.

Thank you

@ibsmith04 - if you don't find anyone closer, drop me a PM.

Be warned, I'm almost at your distance limit as it's 49.8 miles from Peterborough to Swaffham according to Google :D

I have installed an OEM camera in my Suberb 3 some time ago and I keep noticing one thing: if I don't stop completely for at least part of a second, before putting the car in reverese, the camera does not turn on. Parking sensors do, but camera stays off. Does anybody have any ideas?

  • 2 months later...

I finally had some time to fit the reverse camera to my MY19 Superb. I tested the camera at the glovebox before removing the boot trim and it all worked.

However when I removed the boot trim I could see no way of popping out the existing boot handle to fit the camera. (When I did the Octavia there was plenty of room).

There's a component in the way of access ... looks like an actuator for the power-boot lift. Anyone have this and managed to find a way around it?

I was tempted to try and pop out the handle from the outside but I didn't want to risk damaging the cable attached to the  handle.

That big lump you've circled has 3x black plastic twistable things that secure it. you can turn them to drop it down, then I used a rubber mallet to pop ot the boot handle from the inside.
