Letter from dealer: "Good news" about your existing vehicle

Featured Replies

I've had a letter today from the dealer I bought my car from saying they have "good news" regarding my car. Further down it refers to a "nomination".

Given that I've done the last two or three services at the new dealer in Scarborough, I'm guessing it's a discounted service offer. Any other guesses before I call them on Monday?

Yes, money off a new car and £500 of free fuel if I change before the 25th. Thanks but no thanks.

Been offered £3k off any deal I strike on a new VW (having bought the Polo in April 15).

£1250 deposit cont + £750 JCT600 loyalty + £1000 VW loyalty. I have to go in a strike a deal, then hand over the voucher for a further £3k off the deal.

Pity that I cannot justify it... Otherwise my old man's 63plate Passat would become a '16' plate Passat R.

Same letter I've had then

Just a wallet shrinking exercise, thought it was something exciting!

I have just had a really nice looking card "invite" to an exclusive 4day event by invitation only with food and drinks to my local Audi dealership.

Looks like they are all pushing it this year.

Skoda Faintree just sent me a load of blah, blah blah. It went straight into the bin. Pity they could not bother to contact me about the first service due on my Superb last October. Their loss.

Didn't Professor Farnsworth say "Good News Everybody" juts before announcing something terrible

Just another sales gimmick.......they all seem very transparent.  I don't believe there's such a thing as 'good news' or a 'good deal' when used in the same sentence as 'car'.  A hiding to empty wallets every time..........although there's always a temptation when one of those 'must have' ones comes around.

I bought a new car 2014, within 3 months I was getting offers to buy a new car. Free this, free that, best part ex offer etc, etc. They all do it.

Just after my Snetterton crash I had to tell them it didn't need the bonnet lining up any more they asked if it had been written off. Straight in there, well done.

Isnt the letter offer also on the website. ?

Haven't VW just announced that sales have plummeted since dieselgate ?

Same for me tbh.

Straight in the bin.

Hey, as long as enough people do keep chamgin their cars on the basis of the great deal from the stealer, it means theres a betterer selecrion of second handers for me to choose from when i eventually work up the courage to trade my auld yoke un for a slightly less auld yoke, but with a better deal to to be had...
