this is the first year I have got away without having to adjust the handbrake or replace a rear caliper! lol..... No advisories, and no work needed this time :O I had just spent about £300 getting it spot on for the ring trip in September though ;)

right, my 3mm track tyres are not cutting it anymore, tries to kill me in the wet.... taken them off for some "proper" tyres .... seeing as I only do the one track event a year (The annual Nurburgring trip) I have changed to a different tyre... I still don't need winter performance (winter tyres on the 4WD Brera) but a more road biased tyre, that can still handle being driven on the track! so we have gone for Michelin pilot supersports..... track carcass construction, so stiffer sidewalls (Using Michelin motorsport tech) , and dual compound tread, hard compound on the outer half, for track use, able to lean on those big blocks without them folding over like normal road tyres, and softer inner compound with groves, to work the water on a wet day! lets see how they go! (Had the rears on at this years ring trip, gripped perfectly, a match for the NS2R track tyres that were on the front!) so a matched set of four on the car now :) only a short drive in the day today, but the "broken wheel bearing" noise has gone! lol... (caused by the worn track tyres) ..

stance is good

Given him a rare winter wash as I have been off work today... still looks good for 17y/o and 190,000 miles..! IMG-3459.jpg

yeah... £130 each fitted, but the best you can get for road/track use... normal road tyres don't work on track, normal semi-slick track tyres don't work on cold wet roads.... these are the best of both worlds really!

I suppose some maintenance is required from time to time, he is on 191,000 miles.... wheels bearings currently being changed... couldn't bear the noise anymore! (although no wheel movement!) may do the cam belt and waterpump this year... it badly needs a FMIC though...

FMIC AND MAP TWEAK :)

FMIC AND MAP TWEAK :)

It only ever misbehaves when its very hot, it badly needs a FMIC, and a custom map by R-Tech....  should see 250 be, as I know the engine is good, and all stage two bits in place, including a proper fuel pump!

Yeah be cool that and usable power :)

was a front bearing.... and you know your car is old when your mech uses words like "left the thread in" "had to drill it" and stuff like that! 18 y/o hubs.... never mind, at some point it will go TT front and arms/hubs etc .... when a bearing went on the alfa brera we couldn't buy the bearing, had to buy a NEW hub... (£117) very shiny new suspension... but th ebearing on the skoda was about £20 lol... (plus the labour! :O) drives lovely and quiet now though, and the rumbling has stopped! lol..

I was worried the noise was the gearbox, they are fragile and mine has done 190k..... (I dont abuse it though) because I did feel vibration through th elever, but must have been th ebearing, as its gone now along with the noise! A friend of mine fitted the golf diesel box... I may go that way next (or a LSD if I win the lottery!) (and the noise stayed clutch up or down!)

Quick rack is in, so car is fixed.... feels a little heavier, but only driven it a tiny distance, and haven’t had it tracked yet ... I’m trying out a new garage, was charged £188 , is that reasonable? I’ll post a proper review after I’ve driven it properly after being tracked..
