*sigh.... its still not working properly.... 2nd long journey since the fuel pump "fix" and its still hesitating during a long drive on light throttle, feeling like a misfire but isn't :( I honestly don't know what else to try :( will we be going to the ring in the Alfa again this year?! :( I'm going to look at the throttle body next (fly by wire) can anyone explain how to re set this (re calibrate it?) many thanks.

joined the fabia mk2 vRS group today for a lakes drive, 1.5 hours on the motorway, then a blast back up through the lakes.... fair to say its fixed, no issues apart from a bit of heat soak after a long time full throttle up a hill.... but expected from my crappy intercooler ... all seems well...

well, the car has being going into limp mode when I boot it over the last few days, so finally got to opening the bonnet and found the DV sitting like this! :O

IMG_2922.jpg

what you can't see in that pic is the left edge of the pipe from the TIP is all frayed and will no longer hold on the DV with a jubilee clip, it works loose due to the angle and tension on the DV ... so I bodged it with cable ties and tape!

IMG_2923.jpg

all working for now, but guess I will need a new oversized TIP ..... they cost about £100! :O and would be a pain to fit :( I may have to leave the bodge until I can find a 2nd hand one.... will have to be sorted for Germany ....

right next: get rid of that giant air box....

that freed up some space!

Please trim your cable ties off properly. Flappy cables ties are offensive to me.

new boots fitted for the ring trip, as front track tyres were on 3 mm and I didn't want to attempt the karousell with the rears rubbing the arches! :O

shiny new michelin pilot supersports, race construction, designed for some track use and road use, so good compromise and should fit inside the arches!

IMG_3052.jpg

in 225/40/18 flavour, as you can see a slight stretch on the 9 inch wide wheels, now brings the tyre wall INSIDE the arches, I can tackle the Karousell without fear of destroying the tyre!

IMG_3053.jpg

the rears with good (German legal!) tread have gone on the front, you can see how much wider the NS2Rs are! :O straight sidewalls, you can see where its been rubbing (No damage....) and still 225/40/18s!

IMG_3054.jpg

some tread now, should work in the rain again!

I have also bodge fixed my broken TIP... instead of £100 for a new one, I have used a £5 breather hose from china a 90 degree join, and a few cable ties etc, and the forge 007p is back in! The standard dv I put on fitted the worn TIP but was loosing 0.1 bar across the range.... 007p back on and full boost restored! Its not elegant, but I don't care what it looks like under there its working!

test driven today... I can confirm the new DV set up works perfectly... and the rear tyres no longer catch.... bring on the ring!

Think the owner lives somewhere in the Hebden Bridge area as that’s where I saw it and it was for sale at a local garage in Hebden a while back
