50-70

Featured Replies

Hey dudes.

I'm doin' a wallpaper for my desktop and I'd like to stick some specs (not factory claimed, but average user claimed) on to it as well.

For the Fabia vRS (standard), I'd like to know:

1) The quickest time from 30-50mph in which ever gear gives it that time.

2) The quickest time from 50-70mph in which ever gear gives it that time.

Same for a remapped Fabia vRS. Don't give me figures for 5th gear, because that ain't the fastest time it can do it in (i.e 6.4 seconds).

Also, please provide according to above stipulation for the Octavia vRS, standard and modded.

Also (again), same specs for the Fabia 1.2 HTP, though you might have trouble trying to get 'remapped' figures.

I'm compiling some pics of the vRS Fab, vRS Octi, 1.2 HTP and 2.0 just for my personal viewing pleasure. Of course, if you would like to see it, you can always ask. I'll let you know once it's been done.

Thank you for your co-operation.

Over.

Hi - In 4th gear I estimate mine does 50-70 in around 4 to 4.5 seconds in 4th gear, which is the best gear as it has the ideal rev range for that leap - say 2500rpm to 3500rpm (ish)

I'll give it a crack on my way home as I have a little private straight bit of single carriageway on my commute thats ideal for this. ;)

Why not just make something up ?

That's out of 220bhp or standard?? Figures like I asked man!!!!

Go on Gooch...make something up then :)

I would prefer user claimed figures. It'll be a nice wallpaper I promise:)

Not sure on exact figures for the Fabia vRS just that it's quicker than a Veyron.

Oh shut up it's getting old already.

:)

Will someone please take this seriously and give me some GOD DAMNED FIGURES!!!!!!?!?!?!?!! :D

OK

30-50...... 5th Gear......22 seconds

50-70...... 1st Gear......Never

Mine does 0-60 in 2.3 seconds, 50-70 is dispatched in 0.7 seconds and 0-100 is 4.6 seconds.

It is standard though I do have a vRS keyring.

Obviously mine is the mightiest Furby on here :D

Octavia vRs (standard..)

30 - 50 (2nd) - 3.5 secs

50 - 70 (2nd) - 3.9 secs

I recon my Fabia is only a touch quicker with a remap.

30- 50 (2nd) - approx 2 secs

50-70 (3rd) - approx 3 secs

70-90 (4th) - approx 3 secs

50-100 (through gears) approx 8 secs

Just done a rough timing on the way home.

Remapped 2005 spec Fabia vRS:

50-70mph in 4th gear is a tad under 3 secs.

Didn't time 30-50. Might do later on.

I was off to the shops anyway so I did a few times in my Furby 1.9TDi 100:

30-50 - in 2nd - 3.0s

- in 3rd - 3.5s

50-70 - in 4th - 4.8s

- in 5th - 6.2s

30-70 - in 3rd - 7.3s

Bearing in mind the 50-70 and 30-70 times were done on a duel carriageway which is slightly uphill - no flat duel carriageways around here!

Perhaps I should mention mine has a tuning box. :D Estimated 140bhp.

Just did 50-70 in 4th in mine - 3.5 seconds. Due to the lag though, there was a bit of a delay before boost & fuelling kicked in big time. :)

30-70 - in 3rd - 7.3s

I very much doubt that TBH...

Standard vRS is about 7.6, and you would start in a lower gear than that.

Mine (not that its a Skoda)

0-60 - 6.3 secs

0-100 - 17.0 secs

30-70 - 5.8 secs

50-70 - 5.6 secs (4th), 8.9 secs (5th)

Source: Autocar

50-100 (through gears) approx 8 secs

Your kidding right? Even 225 bhp hot hatches like the Megane 225 can only do 60-100 in about 9.7 secs, so I find that VERY hard to believe.

With a 50-100 time like that, I reckon your looking at allegedly 13 secs or less from 0-100!!!!!

As always, a thread full of exagerrated figures

Hey Paul, let's start a mock argument to reminisce (spelling?) some time :D Oh, and about Andy, you gotta remember he has one of those good off-the-belt models so it shouldn't really come as a surprise he can achieve the times he states. God I remember that video he recorded of his speedo when his car was stock...!

Thanks guys. I've started on that wallpaper already, it's gonna look real hot :D

I can assure you that is how quick it is. Two things to remember: firstly, different gearing - mine's a 5 speeder. I'm at about 1800rpm when I kick off in 3rd and 30, climbing to roughly 4k by 70. Secondly, my car is lighter (for some unknown reason - the transmission?) - 1240kg kerb. Either way, that is what it does 30-70 in and I suspect it'd do it slightly quicker on a flat road. Admittedly the engine is beginning to run out of puff by 70mph, but it's still pulling.

Incidentally, I have tried to be as accurate as possible with my times. I did several attempts for each test and got the average result, which I posted. What's the point in posting exagerrated times? It's not a truthful reading of the car.

7.3 seconds for a one and a quarter tonne car (edit: with 16" alloys that will weigh the car down and not designed for it) with 140 bhp still sounds unlikely to me, TBH.

I am not accusing you of lying, just that your methods are not accurate. I think you'll find its nearer 8 secs.

OK. Your two litre is slow and wheezy, and will not ever beat a Fabia vRS, in a million years!

;)

Ah, sorry, I've got the 14" steelies on at the moment . . . . .

I used a digital stopwatch, and started the timer when if floored it, not when the turbo kicked in. I assure you I was being accurate. It's quicker than perhaps it ought to be, I dunno why, but it's slightly quicker than my mate's Lean cupra tdi. Doesn't feel it, mind, but the times reveal it to be.

You wouldn't believe me if I told you........
