With a bit of hard work. You could have this. fab072_zpspqhxwdkr.jpg

Did they cover it in superglue and ramraid a Halfords? ;)

I reckon with a smoothed bootlid that would look boss.

I don't see a problem with that.......maybe put gull wing doors on it :)

Thought I'd have a look at why the drivers window wouldn't work on my way home after work. Took the door trim off, obvious signs of ****ery going on in there. Lock rod missing, missing screws and a well and truly toasted door speaker. Check out the wiring which seemed OK, fuses ok, power and earth to the motor. Had a feeling the motor was goosed. CDL also wasn't working from the switch, motor seemed prime suspect. Then I remembered ages ago I got a window motor off one of Bossfox's breakers for a customer that never showed up. Could I find it in the depths of my unit? Would it be the right one? Well yes I found it after a bit of a rummage, yes it was compatable and yes my windows and CDL now work. Yay!

Drivers side front carpet is a bit soggy but given the state of the carrier I'm not surprised so will pull out all the interior shortly. Prob sound deaden the doors and run some nice cabling for the stereo while I'm in there.

Turns out after a bit more poking about the rear carriers have been leaking (as normal) and it's a bit soggy so....

Certainly more spritely up the road minus the interior. Maybe a tad noisier too.

We've figured it out, from the ride height and the interior, so you might as well tell the truth.

You're going rallying aren't you? :)

Dash out for a rear door carrier leak :p, might aswell fit a 1.8t interior loom while your there :)

Definitely going to the extreme... I like it!

Must have had a little moisture behind the airbag :D

Dash came out for another reason but kinda made sense anyhow. Not like a lot holds them in really, only took 45 mins or so to get the lot out.

There's something pleasing about how chunky it is for sure.

The question is do I order an original os tail light, or change the ns to a later one?

Well I guess the facelift is seen as an upgrade.

I guess it's all down to preference though really.

I'd definitely stick with what it should have, and put an earlier light back on it.

I'd change the NS if it means having an early front and late (looking) rear!

Cheeky request: If the dash is still out, could you take a bunch of photos of all the electrics on the right? The stuff that you can't usually see anything of; relay carrier/onboard supply control unit/ etc.?

Would be very useful as a reference when trying to describe how to get to various bits and pieces like those.

Id go for a facelift light.

Of course, no problems.

I think the rear lights should stay as they are, adds a bit of character
