Beige leather

Featured Replies

They are actually Stratos 17'' wheels (mistake in previous post). I ordered a standard Style (one below the L&K -not sure what the equivalent is in the UK) and the only option I went for is a tow bar (done very cleverly by the factory). I just looked up the Skoda Ireland website and these wheels are no longer available. The Pegasus 18'' are an option for the Style.

My beige leather Superb arrived at the dealers yesterday (18 weeks later). All is forgiven Skoda   From talking to the dealer it looks its back to the old Ford adage -you can have any leather s

  • Of course it's just stamped into the leather, how many cows have you seen with L&K on their rump?

  • Its not the cows in short supply -- its the Beige grass !

When I placed my order (mid November) it was apparently iffy as to whether I'd get my selection of Pegasus 18" wheels. I also wanted beige leather but had to settle for black as there was no chance of getting an order onto the system with the beige.

This Beige Leather must come from very special cows that are in short supply ;)

I saw the car I am looking to order today in the showroom. Petrol Blue SE-L with beige leather interior. Then was told that I can no longer order the beige leather. I then sat in the Black leather demo of same spec. It makes it such a drastically different place to sit, so dull and just so dark. It's such a dramatic difference that it's making me question if I really want to do this. I might just hold onto my current car a while longer.

I have the sel exec in petrol blue with the beige leather. Have to say its a lovely combination. Strange decision to remove this as a no cost option

In a few weeks time I may be able to tell you where you can get a stock SE-L Exec in Petrol Blue with Beige Leather. It'll be DSG though...and TSI

That's exactly the same place I'm in. Found the black interior dark. Decided to stick with what I have got for now, even told the dealer to call me when beige becomes available again. He wasn't happy, but it's up to him to tell Skoda UK that they are losing sales because of this decision.

It's a really poor decision on SUK part. I had placed an order, but within 2 days cancelled - I just can't get by how dark the interior is. It's not my fault the engine I wanted/needed wasn't available at L&K trim.

Ended up ordering Merc C300h Estate with grey leather.

It's probably the biggest issue that made me wonder if I should have gone for an Audi (especially with the leading deals on A4s now), where beige leather is a standard option. Probably the fact I'm only leasing is what made me accept it. (Apologies if this is a repeat!)

I eventually collected my Superb in beige leather today(19 weeks to the day from ordering). The dealer told me that Skoda have told them of a new supply issue. The beige leather cars have a two tone dash (black on top and beige below to match the car trim) and Skoda are having trouble sourcing the beige half of the dash! You could not make this up and I actually thought he was taking the proverbial.

Congrats on the new car :)  Hope you're happy with it!  The beige supply issue does sound like a joke at this stage......

I'll place a part of e-mail received from Skoda Czech

We are facing very big demand about Skoda Superb. Unfortunately we are not able to satisfy customer so quick as we wish. I checked status of your order and your car include beige interior which is heavily restrictive. This is the main reason why car has not week of production.

The situation with black interior is much better and if you would accept to change interior to black colour, we can promise you week of production 13 or 14.

Need to mention that its for car with left wheel drive. I wait for about 4 months before start communication with Czech. And even after they still had no idea of BW. Had to change to black....
It could be different for UK thought.

I got cnfirmation from my dealer that they (Skoda) are looking at all options including partial beige interiors. They will lose many potential buyers if they get this wrong

Is anyone else wondering why it is such a big problem, if they can do beige on the Octavia, sand on the yeti, and beige or grey in many other models within the VW and Audi group why is the Superb having so much problem. Clearly the problem isn't making seats or cutting leather as they can make black.

What I can't understand is why they can't do an alternative like yeti gobi sand or grey. In the past I have had 2 Octavias, a mk 1 and a mk2, the seats were more like light tan and more greyish shade, why not use these as an alternative.

If they would take any of the colours of the other models, these other models would get increased lead-times as well. Next to the fact that the leather might be of a different quality as well. I don't know if the seats in the other models are the same (I doubt so) but it is possible that the seats come in the factory already assembled by different suppliers, which means they can't just switch around.
