Oil temp. Always Just to known when the fun can begin and occasionally when to back off. Regards T

  • Oil temperature or GPS. When above 95°C, I sometimes switch to average consumption. I can get the speed on the screen of the speed cam warning device driving assistant tool.

Average MPG since start on mine. Trying to beat my record of 64.1...!

I beat that on most journeys... Into the mid-20s on the autobahn once...

Speed (as KPH) when in Europe or range to empty.

Mine is almost always on Navigation as I like to know where I am!

Music/ Radio/ phonecalls

Hi I have a GTD currently and I'm looking to move to a vrs estate. Like most here I'm defaulting to the speed and I was wondering if someone could help me with the difference in experience between colour and standard maxidot. Especially give the preference to be looking at pretty basic information most of the time.

current speed for me, not into this chasing fuel consumption, i bought my car to enjoy  :p

Consumption since start, but constantly whizzing between that and range, navigation, phone depending on what I'm doing. But always back to current journey consumption in the end. I bought my car to obsess over fuel cost after working out how much money I was wasting on petrol!! But I enjoy it too :)

Instantaneous mpg, though I wish it would also show average mpg underneath without having to switch back and forth.

Yes I wish with the size of the Maxi Dot it would display other relevant data in the one screen rather than having to flick between every option too. Current and a good mpg for instance.

Get the colour Maxi Dot! As this post suggest we spend all the time looking at it so your eyes will thank you that you spent the extra £80! I did!

Defo £80 well spent

Are we talking about the same thing here? Since start is since start of the journey (although strictly speaking it doesn't reset every time the engine is switched on).

You must be referring to Long Term... In which case 8-9k miles (I'm guessing it's at 5k km actually) is reasonably long term. However it would be nice if it didn't reset on its own and required a manual reset so the user is in control of the definition of long term.

I used Average Consumption until I realised I'd become paranoid about squeezing that last few mpg and decided to switch it to Speed instead.

Now driving has become more enjoyable again!

Sorry I misunderstood you

Current speed.  Check oil temp to make sure its warm before I give it a flogging.

If you only want basic information, go for the standard. But the colour is so much nicer to look at, with high resolution and scrolling animations. Go for it!

Speed, especially when in Europe, so I can just see what we're doing in kilometres per hour easily, especially as those naughty froggies are installing loads of scameras.

The long term resets every 100hrs

Is oil temp only on the vRS? I can't see it on mine! What menu is it in?

I have hired a few skoda's and the most used was the Speed. Although Consumption and Oil Temp did get used a bit.

Average fuel consumption since start and flick to range quite a bit

I thought people have said it only shows if you are on variable servicing, but it can be turned on via VCDS ;)

-are you on fixed servicing?
