Taken the plunge with DTUK

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Just taken the plunge today and had one of DTUK's new CRD3+ 3 channel tuning boxes to my 150 TDI L&K.

Tried a few settings before driving away and settled on 2+1 in the end, which makes the car feel so much more urgent and smooth to drive! The way it gathers speed through the mid-range compared to standard is just completely different - I'm really pleased! I've had several of my cars remapped in the past, and the box feels every bit as good as a remap for those sceptics!

As other people have fed back, both Andrew and Stuart were really helpful and explained everything on how the box worked etc, what was different to the 2 channel box, and let me try the box on several different settings before I decided to buy it. Would recommend the product and service to anyone!

Thanks again guys

Sounds pretty good, how easy/difficult was it to install? I ask as I'm interested but utterly hopeless under a bonnet

Literally a 5 minute job on the 150 engine! It's just 3 plugs to swap over, and you have to take out a small screw to get at one of the sensors. Honestly, even to the technical novice it's dead simple!

And the cost please.

Not so straight forward on the TSi I understand though! I have one ready to go on mine when car delivered, plus the pedal box. :-)

Sure it will be worth it when it's done!

This is something new? Cant seem to find it on their website..

How does this affect insurance.

Like any modification it will most likely increase your insurance.

Boost pressure sensor is a biatch to get to, need to remove the lower engine cover from underneath. Sensor is then between the radiator and the A/C coil, just to pee you off even more it's not only tight in there its mounted at an angle.

But, yes it is VERY worth it.

They haven't added it yet for the octavia - I went to their office to order and they told me about it.

Is there much difference in performance between the 2-ch and 3-ch systems? I think the 3rd channel is cam position but not sure how it works.

From what I understood from Andrew it's more about fine-tuning the engine as much as possible to extract the most power smoothly and safely, and the 3 channel system allows that to happen. Best just to give them a call!

Do it, I guarantee you won't be disappointed

Outpaced a Golf GTD earlier today, so the box is definitely doing what it says on the tin!

  • 3 weeks later...

Has anyone with a DTUK noticed an improvement in their fuel economy? Or is everyone just racing round everywhere with the power increase?! :)
