Still waiting for my car which is due next month. I did spec the electric boot as an extra but I seem to remember some reported it was coming as standard on the SE Business model.

Just wondering if anybody who has the feature and didnn't order it could confirm it comes as standard. If it does I'll be looking for a reduction from my dealer.

I think at the start a few cars where coming with it, but there's since been cars (SE Bus) which have arrived without it not.

 

I was hoping for a freebie, (some even had the side window blinds) all comes down to part availability, luck on the day.

 

Unfortunately, if its not something which has now become standard spec you wont get anything from the dealer as thats what you ordered.

 

Mine too arrives next month.

Pretty sure it only turned up on a few hatchbacks, no estates. My SE bus estate doesn't have it.

I was one of the lucky ones - electric boot and rear side sun blinds - seems to have only been a feature on a couple of the first Businesses on here ordered July \ early August last year. I'm assuming the factory had cars built to a certain basic spec and altered them to meet early demand?

Anyhoo they're not standard features, it was a quirk in the build process so your dealer won't be offering a reduction.

Question SE Business owners ... does the car have foot well lighting in the cabin ? (if so, is this extended to the rear)

 

Also, has everyone's SE Bus got the silver roof rails... anyone got the new amended spec of black ? (this is the part im not too happy about as we could not even choose silver)

Mine has footwell lighting front and rear. Was told black roof rails but turned up with silver.

Unfortunately, the footwell lighting is not LED but some of the other internal lights are so looks a bit mix 'n match, may need to get some LED's for the footwells to make it all the same!

Footwell lighting front and rear here too. All LED too, including the door handle lights. Puddle lights and wing mirror lights are LED too so I don't know what they were doing on the shift that built mine. Not complaining though. Pity they didn't throw on a set of xenons when they were at it!

I've no idea what pack I have. The only problem is when I change the car in 3 years time I'm either going to have to spec up an SE Business or get an SEL to retain these extras. Maybe it's all a clever marketing ploy?

My early order SE Business has the lucky dip extras like elec boot & rear door sun blinds. The LED handle lights in mine are only in the interior door handles.

Remind me again pls... is the dash insert gloss black or silver ?

I'm assuming you mean the strip that runs across the dash and the tops of the door panels? Yes, they're "brushed aluminium" effect or suchlike.

 

Much better than the piano black finger print magnets.

I've got an SE Business on order. Brown, 2.0 Diesel DSG with Zeus. I've been toying with the idea of requesting xenons but keep talking myself out of it. Do the halogens lamps 'look' a lot different to the xenons. I've seen a few pics but none explicitly marked a halogens so I am still unsure. Also considered going for 18" alloys but think I'll go for ride quality on 17.

Yes they are completely different, halogens use reflector headlights and filament DRL's and indicators, whereas the xenons are projectors and have LED DRL's and indicators.

The halogens on the Business are the only let down to the car in my opinion.

 

By the way, if you spec up a Business with xenons and 18's are you not getting close to SEL money? And if that's the case, would an SEL not make more sense?

Yes, almost SEL, off the top of my head SEL has 8inch Sat Nav and auto boot too (Does it also come with KESSEY?), but I get the point and I have decided to stick with the halogens.  I have however, decided to include the DSG paddles but the dealer thinks this will 'reset' my build week, whatever that means. I can't for one second bring myself to believe it means the entire process would start again.  My build week is unconfirmed but it is getting close BW11.  

No, KESSY is an extra on the SEL as fas as I know. The Business is a great value option to be honest (apart from the halogens).

 

And if you're lucky (like me and a few others) you'll get the auto boot chucked in for free :p

I ordered xenons - the halogen lights looks very cheap, just like on the Octavia.

though it you go for the SEL, you don't (or didnt) get front parking sensors, it was another £350.

 

I have gone for a SE Business, as its a company car. i could of gone for a SEL (or anything in fact) but the figures worked for this for me.

I have to agree on the halogens, the S3's halogens look no where near as good as the latest version of the S2 halogens.

I went for the SE Business on lease the deals were just too good to miss, I did want the xenons over the halogens but I just couldn't justify the extra outlay, hope I don't regret it too much. The only consolation is I don't do a lot of night driving and I'll never appreciate what they look like from the outside
