  • Is it in your nature to be a smart a$$? Because I'll be honest now, I'm beginning to dislike most of your sarcastic replies.

  • Time to lock this before it gets more out of hand. Disappointed as this WAS a good thread but personal feelings have deemed it impossible to keep this on topic and non abussive. I will not mention n

octy!!!!!!! :D

Leon.

Get the Octavia if you want a large practical car that shifts.

Get the Fabia if you're sat there in comfy slippers and have a rug for the back self.

EDIT: I reckon he'll get the Fabia ;)

hmmm

ok

I would immidiatley say, Octy, but............

considering age etc, as much fun as it is, and it is a cool car, you have to consider costs such as fuel economy and kitting it out with tires which always stings

Sooooooo Practically i would say Fabia

but i am not practical never have been so my vote still goes octy

Either way dont jump into sommat you regret, you dont want a car you cannot afford to run, but , i the same respect if ya got the chance to have the vRS and turned it down would you regret it in the long run

lots to think about

Get the 2.0, learn your way around it and prove to those vRS drivers what a good car it is. Plenty of boot space with the seats down, has better MPG and is very comfortable, as it has the same seats as the vRS except in a different trim. And you'll have all the leather you want! (I have the comfort version, which was limited)...AND it sounds nice when running it past 3,500rpm!

A modified 1.8T octy will pull the Fabia's trousers down, exclaim "bend over it's rhino time!", and proceed to give it a damn good seeing to :D

If I was you I'd get the Labia, learn how to drive properly and build up your own insurance record.

30 quid a month for a Octy vRS 1.8t remapped (even if it wasnt) and your mum is sorting the insurance, or a Fabia 2.0, erm.......

......Why the hell did you post this question

I'd get the 2 liter as well - and instead of putting it on someone elses insurance, get your own.

Don't get me wrong, the Octy is excellent but you need to build up your no-claims-bonus so you can afford to run a similar car yourself one day :)

On the performance front, a modified Octy vRS would beat a LOT of other cars on the road too, but you need to be reasonably skilled to use it responsibly - not saying you're not - a bit of driving experience in a slightly slower car is not a bad idea.

Another option if you are going to get your own insurance:

* put the Fabia 2.0i on yours

* get yourself added to the Octy policy (as for 30 quid that's cheap).

Drive in the Fabia to get your skills sorted, keep your lower running cost, and perhaps have a blast in the Octy every once in a while. Best of both

Octy RS will spank the 2.0l Fabia....I don't even think the Fabia will be more economical.

That said taking into consideration age, cost etc....you got to go with the Fabia....build up your NCB and experience.....you don't need a fast car to enjoy your driving.

If you can't or don't want to run a vRS FFS don't get the 2.0 petrol Fabia - any other Fabia is fine ....

I reckon the 1.8T will be more economical than the 2.0 when driven in a similar manner. However, you'll have more fun with the loud pedal so in the end you'll use more fuel.

Have you considered other options? With £7k to spend, there's plenty of good cars which will give you performance and luxury :D

Chris

stick with your original car and spend the money on booze :D

I agree with Jon. Build up your NCB. Sounds **** now but in the long run much better.

Greg, you don't know the 2.0 at all, so be quiet.

GET THE 2.0 AND HAVE YOURSELF SOME PETROL FUN!

they are both petrol

:slap:

115bhp vs 54bhp Mr. Smart.

At 17yrs old, how in the hell are you getting insurance on a group 17 car?

I struggled my *** off to get on a group 9, and im 19.. let alone a group 17,

Octy vrs anyday, but i still cant see how you're doing it.

No need for Mr Smart I am afraid' date='

2.0 fabia @ 115 bhp

or

Octy vRS @ 54?????? maybe a few more than that

Both Petrol

so what ever he gets i'm sure he will

HAVE SOME PETROL FUN

:uglyhamme Mr. Mil

It cost me about 1200 quid for 3rd party to drive a Ford Fiesta 1.1L (4 speed) about 10 years (**** I'm getting old) when I first moved to the UK.

Cant remember what group that was, pretty sure it was a very low one though LOL

To be honest I prefer Fabia than Octavia 1 :P Get the Fabia

2.0 fabia @ 115 bhp

or

Octy vRS @ 54?????? maybe a few more than that

My bad. I was talking about the 1.2HTP which I thought he had, he's got the 1.4 100. Still. If he gets the Fabia 2.0, he's going to have plenty of more fun given the extra power & the extra 45Nm of torque. TRUST ME. Take this from someone who has driven plenty of fast cars ;)

My Nan told me not to trust people who's eyebrows join in the middle.
