Dash camera

Featured Replies

depending on the features you want really.

i just bought a transcend drivepro 200

has gps and comes with memory card and mount.

hardwired into the fuse box with a piggy back fuse and its pretty much forgotten about as its starts and stops on ignition and does the job needed.

having had cheap chinese cameras before i wouldnt bother as they are unreliable and thats not exactly whats needed in a dash cam,you only get one chance to catch an incident.

I fitted a Mini 0805 recently. Hard wired into the fuse box. Power lead hidden under roof lining.

Fits very discretely behind the rear view mirror - I didn't want to have to remove it every time I leave the car.

Picture quality if very good.

It has GPS, shock detection, movement detection and came with a 32G card.

I'm using a BlackVue DR650GW 2-camera setup, so the main camera is at the front with a 64GB SD card, GPS, audio, motion, detection, etc and then a rear facing camera which passes it video back to the front camera and it is all recorded as one.

The 200 doesn't have GPS, the 220 does.

+1 for the 0805, great camera for £65

Apologies it is the 220.

Top end I have a Roadhawk DC-2, footage is decent, has gps etc, also been very reliable as was the DC-1 I had before. You can also get a hard wire kit (probably could DIY one a lot cheaper than they charge) and also a cage that locks round it to prevent anyone other than you taking the card/power cable out if leaving in a garage to have work done for example.

It's also quite slim and apart from a little bit of the power cable between the headlining and the unit itself its completely out of my view when driving as I've got mine behind the rear view mirror.

+ 2, Both our cars have these fitted, on/off with the key.

As Anddenton says, great camera for the money

Cheers for that. Good info. The 0806 or Xiaomi Yi look promising.
