Dealer Stickers

Featured Replies

The dealer has stuck their sticker right in the middle of my rear window.  I went to remove it yesterday using a hairdryer but realised part of the sticker (their phone number) is stuck right over the heater elements.  I don't want the sticker but I'm wary of damaging the elements if I try to remove it.

Am I safe to use the hairdryer or is there any other easier way to get the sticker off?  Thanks.

Take it back and ask said dealer to remove it. Free Advertising is a no no

It is years since i have seen Dealer Stickers applied inside the car.

It's a HEATER element. A little bit of HEAT won't harm it ;)

What really peeves me are the badges they apply (or used to) on the exterior. Raised stuck on 'Hiltingbury Mazda' for example.

You're from Scotland, probably all Arnold Clark, they still stick them inside the car here.To the OP  Do not take to dealers to do , some numpty with a razor blade will do it, remove using hairdryer no problem , allways tell the dealer no sticker in the first placev

Dealer stickers come off easily when new. It wont cause any damage.

Clean the glue off with a bit of white spirit then glass cleaner.

Try getting one of those off that's been on for years and had gone brown.

Smash the window with a big brick. The sticker will be gone and also the opportunity for someone else to stick one on.

All our cars have stickers mounted inside the rear screen, the only ones that I've seen placed on the outside are from secondhand places like Arnold Clark - cheap and cheery - but probably a lot easier to get off!

I used to perform the ceremonial "sticker removal" from my new cars as soon as I got them home - then I became lazy!

Peeled mine off easily within a few hours as it was interfering with the view.

Re Second Hand places like Arnold Clark.

They put the ARNOLD CLARK Stickers on the outside of Millions on new vehicles at their very many Dealerships, Fleet Outlets etc, and so do the other Outlets that the Arnold Clark Motor Group own.

Often put on Squint, and in awkward positions on rear glass.

Being in Scotland does not debar someone from seeing New Cars that are PDI and supplied from Dealers all around the UK.

Some Dealerships do quite tasteful external stickers on paintwork, but any Dealership that does should be asking the permission of a New Owner before applying them.

I agree with the above comment. They also have a big opportunity to advertise on number plates.

Managed to get the sticker off the rear window this morning using a hairdryer.  Was concerned about damaging the rear screen heater elements but all seems OK.  Fingers crossed.
