does anyone have any feedback of a remap on 184hp diesels?

Featured Replies

Has anyone had a remap on the 184hp diesel and what are your verdicts? Also does it effect the 3 engine modes etc?

The 184 variant seems to respond well to tuning. Going from a torquey but linear power delivery, to a huge punch of torque and more power throughout.

DTUK's CRD-T tuning box does work really well adjusting both air and fuel (and now monitoring engine speed), packs a real punch! I have fitted quite a few of them now to both the early 170ps and the 184ps and they yield excellent results.

No doubt a remap could fine tune this but all in all a great engine to tune.

+1 for what Xpower says.

I'm running DTUK's latest 3-channel tuning system - adjusts boost, fuel and cam position. The results on my 150 DSG are amazing...a golf GTD couldn't stay with me. Good thing is too if your car is still under warranty, if the box is removed (5 min job on the diesels) it's completely untraceable.

I've had remaps on previous cars and this is easily as good as any remap I've had.

It is the new golf gtd engine in these new octy 2.0Ls.

Thanks all ill look into this, more than helpful and good to know its not a pain of a lump to fiddle with like certain overpriced manufacturers.
