Well today, four months and 9 days since I collected my S3, I've received a Skoda Assistance letter and card. I'd been told that recovery was included but I'm shocked that it's taken so long to receive the details officially. Skoda really are **** poor at the whole customer service thing. Assistance is provided free for three years, operator is the AA.

That is a bit poor, one would expect the dealer should register it on your behalf and it to be inclused in the handover, or at least within a week or so!

​When we bought our first Superb and received  the cover doc's i read them ( yes i know....... ) bit taken aback that in the event of a breakdown they would only recover the car ! as for the caravan..................

Well I collected my car on 7th  October 2015, and to date, have received no letter from Skoda Assistance, just the booklet that came with the car, telling me , what I was entitled to, for the 3 years.

I received the paperwork followed up by a phone call from Assistance (or maybe the other way round) within a couple of weeks of getting the car last year.

I sort of received mine a few days after delivery of the car?! Must be random pot luck?

If the car is towing a caravan at the time of breakdown then "normal AA members'" will get the caravan recovered as well,  because Skoda have bargained "a deal" with the breakdown provider then the agreement must be just to deal with the car?

The very good thing about Skoda Assistance is that it covers Europe.  If like me you have AA cover as part of a bank account package, it will only cover the UK.  To add Europe for a 2 week holiday costs around £50.00 (or it did about 3 years ago).  So Skoda Assistance is good for your hols!  That said, I am confused about the difference between Driver Line and Skoda Assistance.  I have now got 2 plastic cards in my (non rattling) glove box.

Extended warranty includes Europe-wide cover.
