Need information about clutch replacement on 61 plate Fabia CR 1.6 TDI 75 hp Estate

Featured Replies

Hi All

Been told by the garage I use that my clutch has a SMF as it now needs replacing because of the thrust bearing. I said I thought all the CR 1.6 TDI models were fitted with a DMF. His reply was that the parts supplier he uses had to contact Skoda for the correct clutch fitted to my vehicle as around this time 2011/2012 some Fabia's were fitted with SMF and apparently mine is one of them. Does anyone on here know if this is correct, because it's confusing the hell out of me.

A lot or 1.6 CR diesels are fitted with SMF imcluding the Skoda Superb! You also probably have a 5 speed gearbox with an external slave cylinder

The bad news - you probably need a clutch / release bearing

The good new - Because you don't have a DMF and concentric slave cylinder , this will be a whole lot cheaper

not sure about the external slave but it does have a 5 speed box

Was expecting a much larger repair bill though. Thanks for the reply, much appreciated
