Lowering Superb estate with DCC

Featured Replies

Hi!

Anyone changed springs or something to lower they Superb? Have a 150bhp l&k with DCC, and want to have it a minimum 40-50mm lower.. And expect this will be more work on a car with DCC?

The DCC dampers might not like that amount of lowering. Bilstein recommend no more than -30mm on B6 dampers for example, any more than that and the shorter B8 sprints are strongly recommended. Long dampers optimised for factory springs don't always like being paired with shorter springs, you can bottom them out and all sorts. Could be an expensive problem with those DCC dampers.

Other VW group cars have been using DCC longer than the Skoda, might be worth trawling some other forums for more info.

Also, the xenon level sensors might not be too happy with a drop of 50mm. Might be worth seeing what other MQB xenon equipped cars have been like when lowered.

Thanks for good answer!

Still no one who has putted lowering springs on the car with DCC?

I know this is the superb forums, but I have fitted H&R 40/40 springs to my Octavia Mk3 vRS with DCC, and so far so good! It really transformed the car and the DCC settings make even more of a change now. With the original springs it was a little bit softer in Comfort and a little bit stiffer in sport, but now it feels like a totally different car depending on which setting it is set in!
