My dad drive's a B5 Passat and my mum doesn't drive . . . a situation that is less likely to change now my dad's got the Passat which my mum is intimidated by as a car to drive compared to the astra. Suprisingly, I always found the Passat a very able car to park considering its size.

Dad - Rover 216Sli Tourer

mum - Uses my felicia or fabia

My parents are 74 and 68 and they have just ordered another Fabia vrs (black with zenon headlights). :D

Hope they have more luck with this one.......... the previous vrs was washed away in 3 meter high floods when it was brand new (less than 200 miles on the clock)

Dad - When he died last year he had a Favorit GlXie Flarline (N Reg). Was sold to neighbour for

My folks have a regular Clio 182 and a 182 Trophy.

My father has a P reg BMW 318, and my mother has a 01 (or is it 51?) reg Golf. Which means that I officially have the newest, biggest, poshest car of my family, which is a bit disconcerting.

(on an interesting note, I've realized we're keeping the Germans in bratwurst by the fact my other half's parents have a Mercedes CLK)

Dad - 2000 Audi A4 2.8 (FWD not-quattro)

Mum - 2000 Lexus IS200 Sport

I think I actually prefer the Lexus to drive as it's manual and rear wheel drive. It's also smoother but possibly better in handling. The Audi has more grunt tho.

My Dad worked for Vauxhall, so, predictably, he drives an Astra. My Mum drives a cloud, as she's no longer with us. She drove various cars over the years, in a very scary way, then always got off when she was stopped by calling the copper "dear" and doing her "granny" act. She once had a Chevette, which had been owned by a cop. It had a few bits done under the bonnet, and would clock a ton, which she liked to prove on every possible occasion! Deeply scary, but I miss her a lot.:(

My parents have a T Reg Honda Civic 1.6 SE

My stepdad has a Renault Laguna 2.0T GT and what a pile of horse manure it is.

Previous to that, 02 Megane 1.6, J Escort 1.6, D Cavalier 1.6, Bluebird, Crapri, Cortina

Hope they have more luck with this one.......... the previous vrs was washed away in 3 meter high floods when it was brand new (less than 200 miles on the clock)

Is that the car that ended up in a big hedge? Remember seeing pics of a black Furby on the BBC website... :rubchin:

Dad has a 54 plate Xsara. Very VERY bad car. :thumbdwn:

Brother has a 51 plate Megane Fidjii, fully loaded, low miler, but bad price.

They both want Fabia vRS's!

And mum drives my vRS - well, she will in January when I teach her to drive in it!

My dad hit 70 this year and treated himself to my Octy 1, Elegance 1.8T when I bought a Superb. I've since realised that I got the old mans car whilst he drives round with 150bhp under the bonnet! What was I thinking.

Yes it was the black Fabia vrs that ended up on a neighbours hedge......... it was June the 19th, and was hottest day of the year, then the black clouds came over at about 4pm and dropped one months worth of rain in one hour on the Helmsley area

My parents were very lucky, they were away in Norway at the time with their motor home, the water was 5 feet high in the house and colapsed a stone garage wall which allowed the furby to escape.

The car was on all the news channels Sky, BBC etc. Apart from a dent in one of the wings the body work was undamaged, but the inside was covered in silt/**** etc from the flood water.

The bad news is, my parents are going to be homeless for at least until spring next year, the good news is vrs Furbies can float :D

my dad is 60 and drives a 54 plate CLK270cdi elegance

170bhp and 0-60 as quick as my vRS

Dad, 04 Octy 1 1.9Tdi Auto Ambiente se (bit slow):D he wanted a VRS oct'y, but it was decided by the rest of the family, that on safety grounds it was a bad idea:eek: due to his fondness for makeing progress:thumbup:

Mum R reg Micra 1.3 gx 5dr 30.000 miles, still looks like new, due to most panels being replaced at different times:D Think the chassie is still the same:D She wants to replace it with a Fabia auto:thumbup:

Farther in law 51 reg Primera active, slowly being steered towards a Tdi auto Superb  he wants a big comfee car.

My dads got a Saab 95 Wagon 2.3t and mum an MGF VVC. Both totally wasted in terms of performance  I took my mum's out once (only round the block!!) but I gave it a few revs, which it won't have been used to and in the next week or so the HG went.......

*tries not to laugh*

Its a bit tight if I was to blame but at 40k I think it was due :o

(I hope my dad doesnt come on this site at work....)

My folks drive a 1996 Vauxhall Astra 1.6 16V with about 95000 miles on the clock - that car squeaks and rattles like mad and I'm sure it will blow up soon

Trying to convince them to get an Octy II of some description :D;)

My brother does not have his own car yet but he wants a Seat Leon TDI  Tried to 'educate' him about MK1 Octavias but he says they are too big (at least I convinced him not to get a Peugeot 206  )

Dad drives an Octavia Vrs estate as his company car. Mum drives a Ford Ka :orb_rolli

dad usually drives a merc s55, but chopping it in for a cls55 early next year, mother drives a range rover, bro a bmw 525ix and I will hopefully have an octavia 4x4 on wednesday night all being well, my focus is off to a new home tonight. Company car is an evo 6.75 currently. Living on a farm there are various other things about for various different uses! My old man drives quicker that I do and has more points to prove it!

Mum: 04 Vauxhall Meriva Design 1.6 (with pimp-style tinted windows as standard!)

Little bro (19): 00X Corsa 1.2 SXI - Heavily modified but not in the usual **** stylee.

Father-in-law: 52 320td Compact

Mother-in-law: 00X 306 diesel estate

Dad can't drive any more, but since I've been alive (1980) between him and my mum they've had the following; (in chronalogical order)

'79 Fiat X1/9

'80 Astra mk1 1.6 GL

'83 Golf GTI mk1

'86 Astra GTE mk2

'89 Astra GTE 16V mk2

'92 Astra mk3 1.6 GLS saloon

'95 Cavalier CDX TD

'91 Astra mk3 2.0 SRI

'96 Vectra 2.0 GLS Auto

'98 Corsa 1.4 GLS Auto

'01 Astra mk4 1.6 Club

Thats a lot of Vauxhalls. When you add in my first car (a '90 Nova 1.4SR) and my brothers car it comes to 12 Vauxhalls in 25 years!

Mum drives a last-of-the-old-shape Nissan Micra and Em's parents have just bought a 55-reg Golf TDI 140 to replace a 1.8T Passat and a new Fiat Panda (which replaced a faultless F-reg Uno with astronomical mileage  )
