I have a 2015 Skoda Fabia S, bought new in February 2015.  Its the basic spec model but a great little car.  I have had an issue with the courtesy light since purchase.  Intermittently when set to the doors open mode it comes on when the car is unlocked and again when the key is removed from the ignition.  It also goes off after locking the car or after a short time whilst in the car.  However, it has stopped working twice now and when left in the door open position it just stays on.  

 

I contacted my Skoda dealer who told me that the Skoda Fabia S does not have a courtesy light.  Instead it is fitted with the base interior light unit for all Fabia's except the only options are to switch it on manually.  I just don't believe this as it has worked intermittently.

 

Can anyone tell me whether my car should have a courtesy light that should go on and off automatically?  

 

Would be delighted if someone can help me!

I find that hard to believe also. What does the manual say?

 

If the light switch has markings for On, Off and Doors, it should work when the doors are opened.

 

The only thing I've seen, is sometimes on some old cars the back doors dont activate the light.

 

Try another dealer or get on to Skoda Customer services.

I am currently going through Skoda customer services but hoped another Fabia S 15 plate driver might be able to tell me whether their car has a courtesy lights.  Thank you for your advice.

Not even the Citigo S works like that. I'm picking up a 15 Fabia S tomorrow so I'll check the light and post on here if someone doesn't beat me to it.

I do feel like the car has a fault.  My first car was a mini metro and even it had a courtesy light, so for Skoda to forgo this helpful little tool in its newest cars does baffle me.

 

If you could check your new Fabia and get back to me i would really appreciate it.

They are taking the p***. The courtesy light on my March 15 S works on all doors as it should.

You may have spoken to one of the cleaners at the dealership by mistake (joking).

 

If your car doesn't have a courtesy light I'll eat the brochure.

Fabia is away into the dealership today.  No acknowledgment yet that there is a fault but i am awaiting a phonecall to confirm it.

 

Its looking like no brochures will have to be eaten!
