Yes, you are either forced to or you just love it. Maybe both.

He has the car for it.

It's 95% business mileage. Home based in South West wales is always going to be challenging

Big respect. I used to do loads of miles before I retired. Don't think I could do it now. The traffic is manic nowadays and the road surfaces are are disgrace.

That's why I got rid of my cupra 280. Fuel economy, pointless on a motorway cruise, and when I drove across mid Wales, way too easy to lose my license.

Jeez. I topped up the adblue 3 weeks ago, maxi told me 5000 miles range. I've driven 1500 miles since and suddenly the 1500 mile adblue warning flashed up this morning! What the?

^ That doesn't seem right at all. I would check with the dealer...

Topped up at Swansea West services using the HGV adblue pump. Put around 12 litres in, didn't test for auto shut off, but maxi range is now showing 8000 miles. From previous experience that should last around 5k miles.

What did they charge for the 12 litres?

I know that prices vary, but for info, I paid 69p a litre at the HGV pump at Shell Sutton Scotney services on A34 near Winchester.

Adblue warning came up, and I filled up for less than a tenner!

Cheers Terry, very helpful

A tenner or thereabouts. 84p a litre on the pump

Same problem for me too, I can't buy at the pump let cky either, otherwise I'd agree it's the obvious way to do it. One question though, presumably the min / max advice on the trip comp display is to help avoid overfilling, and spilling it everywhere, but why a minimum level?

If you run your car down to zero Ad Blue range whilst driving, the car will continue to drive normally until you stop the engine or run out of diesel.

Once you switch the engine off, you will be unable to start it again with zero Ad Blue in the tank as the car will not meet its emission limits without after treatment.

It's also maybe along the same lines of not running your fuel tank to nigh on empty empty, as you risk suckling any detritus into the filters and pumps that might have gotten into your tank somehow.

That isn't such an issue now as it was years ago. Fuel is well regulated now and tanks are sealed from factory, apart from when you fill it up.

In my eyes, the min warning is probably there to give those drivers who ignore the orange/red warning light on their dash (because "the car STILL works"), the maximum amount of time to actually think about it and go fill up! I'd like to think though that those who buy a Superb are of sound mind and intellect so it won't ever be a problem.

As for filling Ad blue up being a faff, if it's only once every 5000-8500 miles, who the hell cares if it takes you 30 mins to top up! Use the min warning to plan an Ad Blue toting petrol station into one of your daily / weekly trips and save yourself a couple of posh coffees worth of dosh at the same time.

I unfortunately cannot afford the 190 so won't have this problem :-(

Understand the min level, but why does the maxi advise a range? It's not like the fuel warning tells you to add at least 10 litres but no more than 25?

Simply to let you know (roughly) how much you can get in the tank, FWIW the fuel tank can be coded to display the same too:

Hi,

Got caught out this afternoon, Had ignition on but ( diesel) engine not running ,keys in my pocket. Shut the drivers door, car locked itself and refused to unlock the doors when key fob/door handles/ sensors were used. So had a car all locked up and refusing to open up ! As luck would have it the front passenger window was half open, so i pushed a slim brush handle through the window and pressed the master locking button --on then off this did the trick ! bit of a worry though.

How can you have ignition on, with the keys in your pocket? My superb doesn't have keyless start...

Hi,

The L&K 190 S3 has KESSY as standard.

Hi,

Well yesterday being a " roaster" took the car for a wander around Wales. On an empty road i let " lane assist show what it can do--- went round two bends great then on the 3rd it "invited" me to take over ! The mk1 computer ( me ) could not see any difference in the quality of the white road markings bur "lane assist could --- Seems a waist of money.

tried my camera memory card in the columbus -- no joy ,it was refused ----- so two "downers" !
