Competition time - biggest stone chip

Featured Replies

Hi - had a SOB concrete truck throw up a stone onto my bonnet yesterday and hoping others will have worse to make me feel better please? Includes a neat dent as well and the chip is just shy of 2cm in diameter. Your turn

Damn, thanks anyway guys. Have booked into panel and paint. Only $400 / £200 insurance excess but it's more about losing that new car feeling.

i'd be more worried about loosing my anti-corrosion warranty than the new car feelng

This is not a competition I would want to win!!   :peek:

I once had a tipper lorry drop a huge rock on my car. It was travelling in the opposite direction but I was able to catch the company name.

My insurance company contacted them and they agreed to pay for the repair out of their own pocket. They sent me a cheque.

Might be worth a try?

Man that's crap  :x

Feel for ya  :'(

Gaz

Paintshield all the way. No stone chips and keeps the car looking as new

What % of bonnet does this cover, and I take it front fenders too??

I have the whole front end done. Front bumper, wings, wing mirrors and the whole bonnet.

Had 12 mines on the clock when it was done. Couldn't recommend the stuff enough. Plus you wouldn't even know it's on there. This is the third car I've had done.

What is this, some kind of foil?

But why fret about this ?

The new car of now is the 5 year old car in 5 years time, becoming the equivalent to what the MKII's are now, no point being too fussy about it.

By that time you'll probably find umpteen colour-matched pristeen bonnets and get change from £100 :D

So even if it rusts to hell, its only a production car and will only lose value and get cheaper ( and parts will and get more plentiful too ). Don't worry. Its not like safeguarding your daughters virginity at the end of the day, its juts wheels for A-B.

Flak jacket ON lol

Paintshield - the equivalent of seat covers in ye olden days, or is is clear film.

Is this like nano coating?

It's a clear film.

If you don't mind me asking how much did it cost to have done?

It's about £1500 from Paintshield but probably cheaper from other companies. I've always just used them
