Infotainment connection, unplugging, external module installation

Featured Replies

In regards to the installation of a Navi extension module (Kenwood GVN-MIB1, Pioneer AVIC F260 VAG, or others, like in my case - the Dynavin).
Other reference - the old topic of mine: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/389835-octavia-3-navigation-upgrade-options-ideas-thoughts/

I'm about to finally commit the installation act ;) but have some doubts re. the infotainment coding and potential re-connection issues:
- Did anyone do such a thing by him/her-self?
- Is it recommended to disconnect the battery before attempting installation? If so - just ground or both battery points?
- Is there a risk that after disconnecting the glove box unit from car & head display and reconnecting it, something could not be recognized properly, be rejected or the anti-theft functions kicking-in?

Please let me know if you have any personal experiences with working on the Infotainment units / performing works similar to outlined above.
