Indicator 'ticker' volume

Featured Replies

Hello, is there way of increasing the volume of the indicator 'ticker'. I can't see one in the manual. Considering the infinite number of ways of customising the octavia I am surprised !    Thanks

I wouldn't expect there's a software-based way of doing it. Unless there are new fangled ways of wiring indicators, the noise you hear would just be contacts opening and closing in a relay.

Try mounting the relay in an old Heinz Baked Bean can.  :giggle:

I remember you could change this on the Corsa I had before. Unfortunately there's no changeable settings for it on the Octavia.

not these days,  its all software driven in the Octy MK2 and MK3. The sound you here is not a relay, but a tick tock sound played through a speaker in the instrument cluster. The relays are now solid state with no moving parts, so an alternative needs to be used to comply with EU regulations.

My 13 year old Volvo commuter car is the same, if I press the hazard light button with no key in the ignition the light flashes on/off as do the indicators outside but not a tick tock sound in sight.

Yeah sure.
Next you'll be telling me there's no carburettors, distributors, dynamos, kingpins etc.
Pull the other one!  :D

I think it's something they couid have done, after all you can adjust the volume of the parking sensors etc
