Access to climatronic sensor data and flap position

Featured Replies

Hello, what a great forum!

Simply put: How can i get access to data from the climatronic temperature sensors and ideally also the flap positions?

I have a heater and cooling problem with the climatronic in my Octavia III fra 2014, witch SKODA seems to be unable to solve (do not show on their diagnostic tool..... ), it has been ongoing almost from delivery of the car until now, nearly 2 years later!!!

I am 95% convinced, that the problem relates to a sensor problem (probably a temperature sensor).

I am baffled by the approach of problem solving SKODA uses. I work with real time process survailance systems, and do troubleshooting on a daily basis, and do troubleshooting very different from SKODA.

In order to troubleshoot myself (I have more or less lost all confidence in SKODA), I need data from the sensors, especially while driving, in order to follow all the sensor outputs when the problem occours.

I have tried the Octavia II trick, of holding AC button and front screen button down at the same time, to access data according to several youtube videos, but this seems not to be possible on my Octavia III.

I have borrowed an ELM 327 OBD2, and used the Torque app, but only 2(3) temperature sensors which might relate to the climatronic are available with this Tool:

Ambient temperature, which i assume are the temperature available on the dashboard

Intake air temperature

Engine coolant temperature, which i assume is not directly related to the climatronic

Any other suggenstions to get access to data?

I will also create a topic with details of the problem itself.

Vcds can log that data...

Yep, VCDS will give you data from all Climatronic thermistors, flap motor positions, as well as sunlight load data etc. You can also log data points in real time as well.

The temperature data you saw was probably via the engine's ECU. You need to directly access the Climatronic module to access the data you require.

If the system is misbehaving, it could be a thermistor out of spec, or not positioned correctly. It could even be a problem between the motor and the flap linkage. This can occur without triggering any faults, giving the technician little to work with, bar a visual inspection.

Hello

Thanks for the information, in that case i need to see if i can borrow a VCDS somewhere.

The trick of using the radio display (bolero) for displaying details is not possible on Octavia III?

I have made a seperate topic of my climatronic problem here:
