Lane assist worth the money?

Featured Replies

Playing around with my new aquisition at lunch time, and sicovered it's got this fitted!

Ticked the box to activate it, but apart from the little road symbol changing from orange to green, it doesn't seem to do anything.

All a bit pointless so far imo

Nope.

I've attempted trying to understand the manual, and it still doesn't seem to do anything, apart from the little road symbol changing from green to orange when I change lanes.

Supposed to input light steering corrections apparently.

Well I haven't noticed any tbqh.

Glad I didn't pay for it.

Total distraction. Think I'll disable it

There should be a setting in the infotainment that allows you to change it from just giving a warning to giving a warning and guiding you back. I can't remember exactly where as I turned it off some two years ago.

Thanks for answers. Does the lane assist change the housing that is behind the mirror.

Comes as standard on the Scout.

Tried it once, tried it a second time to show the wife. Turned off ever since.

Fifty mile trip home late last night, quiet dual carriageway with lots of straights and curves. I just let the system do the work of turning the wheel. Nice relaxing drive between the white line all the way except for the odd overtaking. Like all the add on's, they're personal choice. I wouldn't pay for it but it was standard. about the only time it's turned off is icy mornings when it is best to take total control
