Audi RS6 Vs Skoda Octavia vRS 0-60-0 Battle

Featured Replies

Next week, Lennox Lewis takes on a primary school child.

Also, some great gearchanges in the vRS.

Golf R estate would have been a much better comparions.

Both four wheel drive and dual clutch. Golf is £33k vs Audi at what, £80k?

Audi has 550bhp vs. 300 for the golf, but the vw is half a ton lighter. Yes the audi would win, BUT is it worth the additional £50k?

.. and before anyone says "rs6 is a much bigger car etc" or similar, the Golf actually has the bigger boot bizarely!

Some random website off t'internet shows:

Audi RS6 Avant 0-60: 3.7s

2015 VW Golf R 0-60: 4.5s

VW Golf R Estate 0-60: 5.0s

RS6 Avant 1/4 mile: 11.9s

VW Golf R 1/4 mile: 13.0s

RS6 Avant 1/4 mile: 11.9s

VW Golf R 1/4 mile: 13.0s

Yep, so that would be your choice ~1 second quicker in the quarter mile costs you fifty grand.

For every second the Audi costs you £6.6k but only £2.6k on the VW !!!

It was not an example of 0-60,  it was a display of 0-60-0.

Start go, get to speed and stop.    Like the Grand Prix that gets done daily, but likely often that is 0-30-0,  or 0-40-0.

Even M5 / M3 BMWs can be as crap as those as can a RS3, 4, 5, 6 or 7,

Blown off by a Twist and go Scooter regularly.

I don't think a twist and go would blow off any remotely sporty car let alone an RS Audi or M BMW

Even hell bent for leather when I was learning to ride on my 125 Honda many years ago it would struggle to beat much more than a generic hatch and that had much more get up and go than an anaemic rev and go scooter

It may not be worth it in some eyes after all but if one can afford it then why not. If one cannot afford then there are other cars.

However on a single track road, road position is everything. At least you know the RS6 will stop before hitting you and to leave a bigger gap if you ever happen to catch a wag driving one :)

I like to think these are their cars and not press cars...

This. I can't afford an RS6 but if I could I'd have one over a Golf R estate. It's a lovely car.

Having said that, I can't afford a Golf R estate either. But if I could I'd probably not have the Golf R estate over the vRS as there's a fair amount less room in the rear seats. I'd have the vRS and extend the house into the garage. If I could afford an RS6 I'd assume that I already lived in a big enough house.

Sorry, this is going a bit off topic now isn't it...

Are we seriously keeping alive a Audi RS6 vs Skoda Octavia VRS thread? :)

...hope our Audi forum cousins never find out about this or we will be their laughing stock.

People can dream....Haha

Reality is the octavia for most of us
