Service recall or just s/w update for those who complain?

Featured Replies

Have been to dealer yesterday to pick up some stuff ordered...

Speaking with one of the salesman I did a verbal complaint of the car behavior between 1000 -1500 rpm. Ever since AUDI VCDS mod has been applied the car still act itself as small-displacement petrol car. And even it would sound too bad for me it still happen instantly when switching from 1st to 2cond gear the engine to switch off (maybe because of lack of power). This happened several times even between 2>3th gear switching. /Car is with manual gearbox and KESSY/

He told me that week or two back they had same complaint for same engine and was solved by software update. Don't know why I have been told that this is kind of secret info???

Have anyone heard or know anything for that kind of issue. I've checked the vin for recall actions, but for last 2 days only message displayed after search is "Sorry, this service is temporarily unavailable". Also do this Audi VCDS mod will be noticed from the dealer?

Some update:
After visiting the warranty service, nothing was changed or updated . I've been explained that do not how to drive (in a brief).

I did some experiment. Asked to get a car with same engine + manual gearbox and with no kessy (the keyless start stop system) but with the start stop system. Got an octy3 for test drive with 150Hp manual. and this strange behavior could not be reproduced. With turned on and off start stop.

Just to explain when this instantly shut down happen. We have this type of speed limiting elements mounted on the city roads. If driving on 2cond gear and slowing down I usually press halfway the clutch so car can "jump" over with lower speed (at around 20 km/h) As long as car pass this obstacle gently releasing the clutch lead to engine shutdown. I must confess that the RPMs are around 1000-1200 while releasing the pedal but not 1700-1800 as the guy from service was said at least needed (pointing where the max torque begin). This happen no matter start stop turned off or on.

I have been driving diesel cars for last 10 years and even my small vauxhall corsa with 75HP engine does not suffer from lack of power in lower rpms.

Does anyone met something similar? I know this is more related to way of driver style of handling car and clutch/ power pedal use. But to defend the thesis even my beloved suffer same issue while driving and also car with no kessy but same engine had no sign of that.

Any idea or comment is welcome!

I stalled mine twice at the weekend in similar circumstances - attempting to negotiate speed bumps at very low revs in second gear.  It does feel as if the engine cuts out instead of trying to keep running.  I guess it's a characteristic of the engine and we need to change our driving style to avoid such situations.  It is a contrast to other cars; my previous one, an Alfa 156 with the 2.4l 5 cylinder diesel, was virtually unstoppable.  At least the Superb automatically restarts if you press the clutch and shift to first gear.
