Tablets - Help me find the seemingly impossible....

Featured Replies

So I'm going round in circles here.

A few years ago Samsung had easily available, a range of tablets, with S-pens and 3G connectivity. (Galaxy Tab 10.1)

They have now been discontinued and replaced by other models. This is really annoying as the s-pen models are really excellent for taking notes and are a favourite with our staff.

The specs below are what we need.

Around 10" screen.

Must come with S-Pen

4G/LTE connectivity.

Samsung now do the Tab A 9.7" in varying specs.

SM-T555.

Comes with 4G but no S-Pen

SM-P550

Comes with S-Pen but no 4G.

So...It seems they also do the SM-P555, which includes the S-Pen and 4G....Absolutely perfect....but can I find one available anywhere in the UK? Can I heck!

It seems available in the middle east, so does exist as a model.

Can you find some that are in the UK, that are in stock for delivery?

Not even bothered about the colour. There seems to be black, grey and white available.

Try looking for a Galaxy Tab S2 (SM-T815).

At 9.7" it's near to your 10" that you're looking for, in fact that's what I am using to type this.

I picked one up from Amazon, but they don't seem to have any in at the moment.

Drawbacks are the screen isn't as good as the Note 2014 edition that I broke by a considerable margin, although the LTE connection is good, no stylus either, but you maybe able to get a 3rd party one.

TBQH I really did consider the iPad Pro, the thing that lets it down is the abysmal connectivity of it and the lack of expansion slots. Plus the very high cost of purchase.

I just looked at the iPad Pro and to get one that is comparable with the S2 is a whopping £839!  :o

Thanks for the suggestions so far but iPad pro is definitely out of the question :)

It has to have the integrated s-pen as it will be used for taking notes.

The lower range c-pen and other aftermarket options are crap in comparison.

what about a Far East bulk buy from Ali Baba or similar?

Viagra, thats a good Tablet.

Ooppps  Sorry wrong thread

Try the other amazon / ebay sites - don't just limit yourself to the UK ones.

Even with postage a lot of items are cheaper bought in from the US or Germany.

Looked at windows tablets?

Are you making that as remark as a fine upstanding member of the forum?

I Think if she used a stylus it would work properly.

That's for the Pen-is, not the S-Pen.

Surface 4 tablets are very good and work well with a stylus.

But they make iPads look cheap.

Mmmm although I'm sure they'd all love surface pro...they're a bit out of the price range :(

Dell Venue 11 pro tabs are quite capable but I'm unsure of stylus support.

Refurbs from MCS are pretty cheap as well.

I have one for my "mobile" computing needs... extra battery in keyboard means it lasts forever on a charge in comparison to most... never tried writing on it though

The pens are crap and eat batteries. Have one for work.

Well after reading all the views and specs, I've just placed an order for 1 of those to evaluate it.

If successful, we'll be getting a shed load more :)

Thanks for the link :)

Be interested to know how you get on with it please...

Well first impressions are very good.

The pen is response and intuitive, and seems to actually write better than the Samsung tabs that it will replace.

I've left it with a few of the sales monkeys to really test it and let me know what they think.
