more on dipped lights

Yes, the Halfords bloke told me it was much easier than the Mk. 2, where you had to take the light unit out of the wing first.

Mk. 3 has instead some kind of removable cover at the back?

Yep, just a removable plastic cover and the bulb will be held in by metal clips - should be a 10 minute job! To be fair, if you've never done it before, you'll still be better at it than Halfords haha!

I've got 4350k bulbs in my O3 & I don't think I can see a lot further but, I can see in far more comfort. I don't squint & stare through the darkness any more, mine are Mtec's & have been fitted for about 2 years now

It's still worth doing if you want more light, and there are plenty of people on here who have upgraded their halogen headlights and have been very happy with the results.

Halfords bulbs are made by Ring, my advice would be to go with Osram Nightbreakers or Philips Extrem Vision bulbs - both of which can be had for around £20 on the Internet. Fitting is very easy on the O3 as the bulbs are easily accessible - Halfords are just a bit of a rip off!

Pretty sure that's what I said in post #5 [emoji106]

There are definitely positives to switching to this type of bulb, the Halfords ones I am unsure about as I have never used them. The lifetime is certainly reduced.

Is there an easy way of then identifying which is  the dip bulb (apart from switching them on !!!)  ?

It's the bulb on the outer side of the headlight, and also the dipped has a different bulb - H7.
