De-badge or not?

Featured Replies

You must JUST the diesel vRS I think, just to be clear.

Being a diesel that's a lot of usable torque you pushing there though.

On the petrol you'd need to be stage 2-3 to get that level of torque from the petrol, although the petrol will be pushing 320-250ps+ at that level of map.....

By the way the best Yeti R project is already done, its Richard from this site .... although its a MKII. He'll be after you for copyright infringement !

- Its a 2.5TFSI from the Audi RS !

Not been done with a MK3 yet though if that gives you some scope for improvement ;)

PS I'm fully badged, no room for ****ing about with the car like this, just silly IMO.

Ill leave the petrol Yeti projects to Richard, ill stick with the diesel, the Project Yet R can be the Yeti RS's little brother   :D

There seem to be three sides to the debate...   1) Remove none 2) Remove all 3) Remove all but the vRS   They all have their place. Just like DSG vs. manual, petrol vs. diesel, race blue vs.any

;)  :notme:

I wanted BR15 KRS, so would have spelt BRISK RS but someone beat me to it.

Oh and it's not an S at the end it's a bit of bird poo that just happens to be that shape, it must be the wind vortices around the rear of the car, honestly Officer!

It is reasonably brisk, it's a 220 Tsi with a DTUK box fitted so is around the 300 brake mark, but I can see where your coming from!

I can only see a mis-spaced and illegal plate.

Took me a good second look to see the 'S'

Question : If you remove the badges, do you invalidate insurance on the basis the vehicle is modified ?

Wouldn't have thought so, saying that they look for any reason not to pay out. Could make the car more desirable to an 'inquisitive' thief I suppose

I've had enough of keyboard warriors.

I'm off.

Certain people spoil what Briskoda is about.

I've been a member for 11 years plus and now all it seems about is pi**ing posters off.

re. de-badging ,

I have removed all text from the back , BUT........What is behind the big skoda logo's ( front and rear ) ??

I am a little bit afraid to rip them off before knowing what is lurking behind.

Any good picture ??

A depression that will require filling if you want to smooth it properly again see my earlier picture this had been filled. To be honest though you need to cut it out and weld in a disc then linish flush before painting. The depression is too deep for just filler it will crack in direct sunlight otherwise trust me.

Hi

When the body shop did mine, they "pulled" the metal below out, so it was nearly level then a small amount of filler. [As seen done on Wheeler dealers TV show].

Going to get them to do the same to the Monte a few weeks.

Hope this helps.

Steve

The only acceptable combination is to remove everything EXCEPT 'Skoda' :)

  • 4 weeks later...

What is beneath the skoda badge ?

are there any holes or is it just double-sided tape in the recess ??

nitro2

There's holes under the centre skoda badge, the lettering is sticky felt.

My badges have gone back on. Looks too plain without them.

Ditto!

Badges always come off my cars to make cleaning easier.

I've ADDED the chrome numbers 220 just below the vRS badge on the lower hatch, so people don't think I'm driving the 184 smoker.

Isnt it better to think you drive 184, while in fact you have TSI with stage 1 at least?

Oh Dear      It will be a Autobot or Desepticon badge next

I'm going to remove all badges, especially the vRS-badge.

Do you know if there is a 1.0 badge from the new three cylinder available?  :p

Here's a useful question - whats the easiest method to de-badge without damaging the paintwork? I'm considering leaving just the vRS badge on mine....

I have always entertained the idea of underbadging one of my cars just for laughs :)

...also never put the tuner stickers to give away the engine is tuned - leave them wondering. Sleeper cars is where it is at :)

Hairdrier and dental floss, then a toffee wheel to remove the adhesive that is left over. (i use it manually, rather than with a drill)

Couldn´t find any 1.0 badge so I think I´ll get one of those 1.4 badges...
