Skoda Free Breakdown

Featured Replies

Seems they are economising. When I bought the Yeti last year I got three years free breakdown . Today I got a new card with an expiry date after one year! I await a reply to my Tweet!

They can't change the rules now, you bought it with 3 years breakdown.

It's only the government that can go back on its promises and move the goalposts!

If you got a new years duration card after one year do you not think that next year you'll receive another year duration card to take you up to three years?

The Skoda Yeti Brochure still says 3 years breakdown.

From the web site in the FAQ's

Does ŠKODA offer any roadside assistance?
All ŠKODAs supplied by ŠKODA UK and purchased from a member of the ŠKODA retailer network are provided with 3-year, unlimited mileage Roadside Assistance policy. This includes European cover and ŠKODA Assistance will even help you if you put the wrong fuel in your car, if you get a puncture or if you lock your keys in your car. For contact information and further details on the policy please refer to the ‘Breakdown Cover’ area in the Owners section.

Good thinking!

Though I didn't receive any cards with my previous VWs and Audis. Just the initial paperwork.

I have to say on both my previous Yeti's I got one card with just the contact details these were backed by the RAC.  I understand that now the service is backed by the AA so maybe there is a difference in the way this is handled?

My new Yeti was collected from the Dealer on 28 April 2016.

Two weeks later, in the post, I received my credit card sized Skoda Breakdown card from SUK.

On the front it shows Car Registration ****** and Expiry Date 27/04/2019

On the reverse are the contact numbers for UK Breakdown Assistance and for European Breakdown Assistance

One card for three years.

Just a thought was breakdown cover included with your insurance?

Contact and clarify ?

I received my card just after registration. Collected 08/04/2016, Free Breakdown cover expires 07/04/2019.

The card should be irrelevant, if you call Skoda assist for recovery or repair whilst your car is under warranty they will respond and help you.

The wife had a card delivered today and it Expires 14/06/2016. ( Car one year old )

I phoned Skods CS and they phoned the AA and got back to me.

Skoda come with 3 years Warranty, The coK up is the AA's fault. They have installed a new computer system and it's making a few mistakes. You DO NOT need to carry the card as told in the letter.

If you are unsure Ring Skoda CS, evidently they have had Thousands of calls over the last few weeks

Hope that Helps.

BTW, in case you're unaware, Škoda CS is outsourced to Capita in Leeds, along with, VW, Audi etc, British Gas, BT, Severn Trent Water etc., just ask 'em a question that's not on the script and relish the bullsh*t you'll be given.

Made an enquiry last week, might as well have rung the speaking clock :)

Almost all our CS calls go to an Indian call centre which comes as a shock initially........but they sure know their stuff.

You've all just saved me two years RAC membership!!  I thought Skoda was for one year only, but 'phoned to check and I get 3 years.

Thanks very much!!
