Open windows with single click

Featured Replies

Can you open/close the windows fully by light pressing once on the toggle switch? It should be possible from the manual, but I havent been able to do this on my car.

Configure it in the setting mate.

You mean infotainment?

mine does it

Fabia mk3 doesn't

Mine does it but it's not a "light" touch, it's a slight hold and release.

Yep, its in settings somewhere! Can turn it off, have it on drivers window only or all four.

I found something in closing / conven. opening:

all windows (active)

drivers

off

(I think)

but it doesnt work for me. Light press before the click doesnt activate it.

maybe vcds is needed.

On mine the switch has 2 levels.

If you click down the first level the up/down stops as soon as you release.

If you click down to the bottom and hold for a second, the auto open/auto-close is activated.

As mentioned by Skodev it is definatley not "soft touch" you have to press quick hard to activate it.

Try opening the window fully and then closing them fully whilst holding/pushing the switch all the way. Had to reset me Seat Altea windows occasionally and this was the method.

I got it working, it had to be hard press, harder than just holding for opening / closing operation. I though it was soft touch like lane change flash.

It sounds from some of the descriptions in this thread that the behaviour must have changed since my MY15 model.  On mine (and to be honest on most cars I've owned or driven in recent years) a short press (fully down or up) on the button causes the window to open or close fully, whereas a longer press opens/closes the window only for as long as you press/pull the button. It's not about how far your push it but for how long.

This is from the manual and seems to correctly describe the way it works in my car:

Opening

Lightly press the appropriate button down and hold it until the window has

moved into the desired position.

The window can be completely opened automatically by briefly pressing the button

down as far as the stop. Renewed pressing of the button causes the window

to stop immediately.

Closing

Lightly press the appropriate button up and hold it until the window has moved

into the desired position.

The window can be completely closed automatically by briefly pressing the button

up as far as the stop. Renewed pressing of the button causes the window to

stop immediately.

Maybe this changes at MY15.

My car (2014) definately has 2 physical positions for each direction.

1st-position up/down, 2nd position auto-open/close.

The switch is very stiff so you have to press down quite hard to activate the auto-open.

So much so that I often have to try a couple of times to get it to work.

Toni8b, when was your car built?

My car is MY15 and it required hard press, harder than for hold down open / close.

On my MY16 car you have to press the switch hard to activate the second position on the passenger doors. It's much easier on the driver's door. However the wording has changed for the passenger doors in the new MY17 manual available from http://www.skoda-auto.com/en/mini-apps/owners-manuals/pages/octavia.aspx

Page 59 now just says to press the button briefly and says nothing about pressing it down to the stop.

The convenience opening settings that have been discussed are for opening and closing the windows from outside the car by holding down the buttons on the key.
