so if it was in for service the day before why did they not pick u the wiper and brake fluid?

was the service done at the indy garage you got it from and the one that picked up the other items a dealer? if so says a lot about the indy to miss the wiper assuming the wiper was split, the brake fluid a lot of dealers try that one on, same as aircon service

We booked the car into the indy we normally use for an oil flush & replace oil & filter with 5w40 oil and genuine filter as we didnt trust the dealer had done this.In fairness that was all it went in for but I was annoyed they didnt pickup in the spark plug issue as my wife advised them of the poor running beforehand. When the car got worse I said stuff this get it into skoda.

If the car is just out of the Skoda Warranty and 3 years old then it was due a brake fluid change, then the service schedule is 2 yearly from then.

We will schedule this in shortly when funds allow. I think we are probably going to go with our local Skoda dealer Robert Eardley as they have been around a long time and seem to know their stuff

I now use Sainsbury's 97 (when available) in our 1.2 and 1.8 TSI and the difference is noticeable. More pull through the rev range and better range.

The wife doesn't and it annoys me! It's worth the few extra pence.

They don't sell it on the isle of Wight. I did get some funny looks when I asked for it!

Think we will fill up with super every 3rd or 4th tank

It is a higher Octane, there are no magic properties, if your car runs more efficiently you might get a MPG or 2 more.

That pays for the extra £2 or so a tank full.

Tesco Momentum 99 is 5 pence a litre more than Tesco 95 ron, so about £2.25 more on a tank fill.

Worth every penny IMO.

Wife had to pickup car following a night in A&E where I managed to slice open my right hand. So she says the car is transformed and goes like a stabbed rat

I only use Shell V-power. For the first time the other week since owning the car I filled up with Tesco momentum as Shell is starting to get a bit expensive. Car hated it! I normally achieve 40-45mpg on my drive to work when I use shell, but with the momentum it dropped to 32mpg. Car was also far less smooth and responsive.

I run only Tesco Momentum 99 or sometimes on high days and holidays 102 ron.

Last year going to Santa Pod i had done 3 days driving before filling up outside Blackpool at a Tesco with Momentum,

and that night vRSForever and i were out in each others cars, mine was so so and i put it down to how hot the air was and humid.

Next day on the M6 my car was running that bad i had to get stopped and put in 102 ron i had to get it running decent until i got Shell V-Power Nitro+ in.

No way was it 99 ron that came out the pumps at the Blackpool Tesco.
