Lock/unlock bleep?

Featured Replies

I've traded in my 63 vrs for a 16 plate and the bleep on lock/unlock is no more. Tried searching all the menus and can't find an option for it.

Option removed or am I missing it?

It's: Car -> Settings -> Opening & Unlocking -> Acoustic Confirmation

Bleep lol

I'm almost certain that option isn't there. Will see what I find when I go to the car shortly thanks.

I know this annoys some but I find it very useful, particularly if you lock the car whilst walking away from it

Perhaps another Skoda cost-cutting measure or an environmental requirement to keep the noise down on new cars?

Or cos it just sounds crap

I guess that very few people use audible locking nowadays. Mine has always been set to off, and I just listen for the central lock clunking to confirm the car locked when walking away from it.

Could well be. Shame. Oh well I'll get used to it.

I can select the audible beep on my with locking and unlocking. Soon turned it off though!!!!

I have a 16 plate vRS by the way

Same for me with my 16 plate VRS TSI. Its on now and I like it because I'm forgetful and can lock the car from the back door without having line of sight and know it's been done! ;)

VCDS should be able to enable it back, I've adjusted mine to only beep on lock, and then use the shorter chirp

Maybe the bleeping is for the blind drivers as they can't see the Indicators flashing

Don't you have folding mirrors?

No folding mirrors. Optional extra as far as I remember

There an interesting post here which might be worth a read Lamboluke.

Someone suggests that the "unlock beep" is made from the alarm module.

It appears on some model/markets, the alarm has been moved from a standard option to paid extra which you need to request.

Perhaps you dont have the beep now because you also no longer have the alarm??

But on a UK spec car I would be suprised if it didn't come with a CAT1 thatcham alarm as standard......

It is standard across the range in the UK.
