AMD one-click came off this morning

Featured Replies

Well I had to do it, I just cannot behave with it on and its crippling my fuel bills :D Don

Maybe it's good to just test the one-click works?

In the switchable map, is the non-AMD map the original map from your car, or is it a generic map?

I'm about 98% sure that it's the original map from the car.

James, just a quick note to say that people (like myself) who are using the dark forum skin cant read what you've written in the colour you've chosen ;)

it is the origional map from your car, as you have to send them a copy of that before you can have a copy of the AMD map. With regards to the One click does anyone know if you could accidently earase or overight the origional or AMD map on the device?

You'd only erase the dats if you damaged the device. Should be drop resistant but not so great near large magnetic fields or other EMF sources such as CT scanners, high voltage (1500v+) transformers etc. ;)

Have to say (and no offence to handbag man, seriously ;) :P) that self control appears to be play a big part in use of a remap. I like to drive like a loon too, but I can still behave and average 45mpg - I just might get to cruising speed a little quicker than average. ;)

I don't have the option of removing it like the one-click though.

Not quite sure the point in this thread but if you

Mr Gooch, it is written in standard black, would you like me to use white in the future  :P

Jason - yup your right self control definently comes into play, and is something i've got a lot of, just not when it comes to driving my car :D Dont get me wrong I dont drive like a loon (before the self riteous people creep over lol) but I do no motorway driving just dual carriage ways and B roads, and am heavy footed so my MPG is shi.te

It's just a different car with a remap it really is

James, I can read everything other people write - black on really dark grey is a bit like writing in this tasty colour called "Lemon Chiffon"

How very odd, perhaps you've added me to your block list, and this is the way it blocks me  :D

Or maybe its because I wrote it in word and copy and pasted accross - probably that

SWMBO is my "OFF BUTTON" for my remap, when she's in the car my right foot barely touches the accelerator. "ON BUTTON" as soon as she steps out of the car

i can read that fine now james, strange

I still cant read it so dont have a clue what the problem is with the one-click :p

same here... no can read - unless i highlight it :(

This bit is written in word as a test

Well I had to do it' date=' I just cannot behave with it on and its crippling my fuel bills :D Don’t get me wrong MPG is better when granny driving, but I cant drive like granny with it on, its impossible, so I am having a week off

But what a difference this remap makes, I could only fully appreciate it this morning once it was off.

Now obviously the car is A LOT slower, couldn’t believe it, there’s no punch in third gear at all, the car just didn’t feel spirited anymore

But one thing that doesn’t get talked about too often with remaps is how it makes the car drive, this remap is so smooth it makes driving such a pleasure and effortless…

We all know the performance is improved (and boy is it improved :D ) but there is so much more to the remap its just the way it makes the car drive really is such an improvement and it really hit home today once it was off.

Not quite sure the point in this thread but if you’ve been running this remap for a while turn it off and you will really see the difference it makes.

Thats the way to do it - still had to remove "colour" tags though - morale of the story... dont use word.

I switched back to stock to do some logs a few months ago...

... for all of 5 minutes, then it went back to the remap!

It felt horrible after driving it with a remap since it had 47 miles on the clock!!

I can see the points coming if i decide to go ahead with a celtic remap

I have to ask mate, what did the one-click do to your insurance.

Being a similar age to me, and living in the same area it would give me a fair reflection of what i should expect if i were to get it done (which I would love to).

Cheers

I put my car back to standard last night. Took out the green filter, put standard one back in. Put back original air intake and put standard map back on. The car is slower now but nicer to drive. Its quieter, smoother and easier to drive normally. With the one click it was hard to change gear from 1 to 2 smoothly and the DMF vibrated a lot at about 1700 revs. Now its quiet and a much more pleasant drive.

I noticed mine is quieter and smoother at slow speeds too when standard but when on the move the map is less harsh when the torque comes in and not to mention a heck of a lot quicker in the top end.

Still really pleased with mine :)

Will, are you selling it?

It's a generic map. If you want smoother delivery etc get a custom map on the one click. It's a bit more but ultimatly it will be what you want.

I also found that using Biodiesel smoothed my curve out. Try that.

I'm now thinking I should have gone for AMD Oneclick instead of Revo.

I bought an SPS1 switch so that I could return the car back to standard when it was going into the dealers for anything, but I have now found out that Revo "Stock" setting isn't the standard map at all.

I've had some response from Kev at Revo and I' awaiting more, but I'm not really happy about the situation.

I am happy with the Revo remap perrformancewise, just not the fact that I can't return the car to standard.

To sort this I guess I'd have to get the dealer to reflash a standard map onto the ECU......this then begs the question "oh....why do you want us to do that sir?"..........with the car still under warranty!! *ahem*

Bugger!

Just out of interest - a custom remap is likely to be less than either AMD Oneclick or Revo (about
