Have my h&r springs on and now seeking a rear anti roll bar. What are the options

Nearly there with the few subtle mods I've had in mind when I brought it.

Thanks

H&R

Eibach

Whiteline

neuspeed

KW

All these brands make anti roll bars for the octavia, H&R would match up with your springs but whiteline have very good reviews.

ok thanks for advice.  do they make a difference with respect to better handling and lest understeer.

On a FWD car with a tendency to understeer they make a huge difference, must do mod to improve the handling of pretty much any "sporty" FWD car really...

Is the ride much different with the H & R springs???   Contemplating springs on my wife's VRS but was probably going to go Eibachs'.

Cheers.

Be aware that Whiteline tends to squeak after a few months, well mine does... :(

mine squeaked at first - i took it back, they adjusted the brackets a bit, slapped on some more grease and its been fine ever since.

i've had it for a few years now.

I had read on here about applying grease but have been too lazy to get it up on ramps. I have some silcone spray so may give that a go.

TBH it seems to only does it on slow turns so it's not that much of a problem.

I've got an H&R on mine, the bushes come with Teflon inserts so no squeeking .

Flatter cornering, less understeer, and no difference to comfort. I'd definately recommend one!

I recommend the 034 Motorsports rear sway bar, I had one on my RS3 8P, the brackets are very beefy CNC alu jobs with grease nipples on them so regreasing is a doddle, great bar, I'll be ordering one for my "new" 11 plate VRS CR170

034Motorsport is proud to offer the ultimate rear sway bar upgrade for the front-wheel drive MkV/MkVI Volkswagen Golf/GTI/Jetta/GLI/Rabbit & 8J/8P Audi TT/A3! The 034Motorsport Adjustable Solid Rear Sway Bar is made from high-quality spring steel for maximum rigidity, and is designed to combat understeer while reducing body roll under hard cornering.

This product was tested thoroughly on the street and track on our shop MkVI development car before release. The 034Motorsport Adjustable Solid Rear Sway Bar substantially reduces understeer and body roll on MkV/MkVI Volkswagen Golf/GTI/Jetta/GLI/Rabbit & 8J/8P Audi TT/A3 vehicles without compromising comfort on the street.

In addition, this 034Motorsport Rear Sway Bar is engineered to be used effectively with the stock front sway bar. No upgrade in the front is needed or required. The addition of a stiffer front bar introduces even more push, requiring an even bigger bar in the back.  With the stock front sway bar and upgraded 034Motorsport Solid Rear Sway Bar, body roll is virtually eliminated while turn in and off throttle oversteer are greatly improved.

Features:

  • 215% - 290% Increased Sway Bar Rate (Over Stock MkVI GTI Rear Sway Bar)
  • 25.4mm Diameter
  • Solid Spring Steel Construction
  • 2-Way Adjustable
  • Designed to be used in conjunction with the stock front sway bar.

What's Included:

  • 034Motorsport FWD MkV/MkVI Volkswagen & 8J/8P Audi Adjustable Solid Rear Sway Bar
  • Graphite-Impregnated Urethane Bushings
  • High-Strength Billet Aluminum Sway Bar Brackets with Zerk Provisions
  • Installation Hardware & Grease

Is there much of a difference when adding a front one too? Has anyone fitted rear then front at a later date?

Rear is a doddle, front not so much, need to drop the subframe & ideally need to replace a load of stretch bolts that are undone while dropping the subframe (if you don't you can get alignment issues), then really need to have the alignment checked.

what were they like to fit?

Had a garage do it, together with a WALK and B12 kit. So no idea, took them less that half a day tho (+realignment), so nothing very hard I suppose.
