not in UK - we missed out on that :-(

But we did get the 17's

And the armrest cubby-hole is just the right size to hold a 500ml bottle of water....

simple solution to using arm rest while changing gear......change gear knobs!!! i have a momo sphere fitted....not only is it lower than the standard gear **** but slightly shortens the throw aswel:)......and yep i use mine all the time!!!:)

I use mine all the time, once you get learn to go around it to use the hand brake its fine, and below the horizontal, you can still get at the gear stick with ease and the back of the rest is still at elbow height,

Mind you the whole unit is standard VAG, bit does make alot of noise!

It doesnt make any noise. I got mine fitted by the skoda dealer as the RS does not come standard with the armrest. It did make a lot of noise the first day. I noticed that it was rubbing against the leather upholstery of the passenger seat, and hence was making a squaking sound. The guys on installation had notinstalled it properly, there was less gap on the passenger side than the driver side. Got the armrest adjusted, and never had a problem again. My car has done 7800 km now.

I find the one in my parents Octy is stupidly positioned.

it's in the way of the handbrake... and I use the handbrake all the time rather than sitting in traffic with my foot on the brake.

In my car I use the armrest all the time, but it's not folding and not in the way.

Would love one, have done a fair few miles in my dads L&K and feel that it is a shame the RS is not fitted with one as standard, does not look like a hard job to fit one either, just remove the small cubby hole thing that sits near the fag lighter and it looks like it secures in that somehow. Any one got a price for one??

i love mine for the long m-way cruises, but round town or in heavy traffic its a bit obstructive of the gear leaver. As for the cubby hole my sunglasses and hands free kit live in it :)

I don't have one in my vRS but I had one in a company Mondeo. I found that because I used it all the time my posture while driving was terrible. I found that using it for more than an hour gave me bad lower back pains.

Yep I use mine all the time as well, I tend to drop it a couple of notches when driving in town, it makes changing gear easier. It is so much comfier than not having one but tends to slow my driving down as it makes me less aggressive for some reason!

Be lost with out mine...Had one of every car I've owned even a MK2 Escort!

I asked Skoda about adding one, they seemed to think that there was a fair amount of trim which would need replacing so it would run over £200 for the bits. Can anyone confirm this?

Thanks I'll look into that.

I find it gets in the way of both the gear lever and the handbrake, so, since I'm not so lazy as to need to lean my elbows on something at all times...

I love it but I have the auto, dont think I would with the manual Box, bad design that it does not take a water bottle in the chilled bit though.

Really great for long motorway runs...otherwise it's pointed to the headlining....

Now I have a longer trip to work every day, I tend to use it all the time... tipped to the lowest level. Granted it gets inthe way of the handbrake and changing gear is a little more difficult but I quite like it (now I now it tips down tha extra few clicks.....)
