Red wires in glovebox?

Featured Replies

Hello,   I was searching for a place to pull my powercable through for my woofer and stumbled into this. It's in my glovebox (after I pulled the little tray out), can anyone tell me what the red cables are for with the yellow hat?

If those are 12v cables, I can use my soldering iron to put one together with my powercable for the woofer, right?

Thanks in advance. 61db09a8331367dac6bd2e95bbd767e5.jpg

The Hat looks like a "Crimp" joint (I have some just like that) that is joining those cables together. Not something that looks OEM (Factory spec) to me!...............Tony

Well, the previous owners were old men who used it to go to the supermarket, so those cables aren't 12Volts from the battery?

That bundle of wires is crimped together from factory. It is hard to tell if it is connected to permanent positive (30) or ignition key switched positive (15) because there are two such positive connection points in the front wiring loom.

Either way, you don't want to disturb any such connection. There is a smarter way. A connection to permanent battery positive in the relay box. It is closest to the thick red wire coming from the battery to relay box. See photo. Don't forget to put a fuse in series with the new electric load.

There all the live wires just connect live to battery or the bass will make every think flicker on them lives...
