What does the vRS black pack consist of?

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Having searched high and low, I have done a deal with my local Skoda garage and I collect my 2013 Octavia VRS (Race Blue) in a weeks time, however it does not come with the black pack.

What exactly does that option come with?

Thanks :)

Black grille surround. No chrome around the windows. Black roofrails(estate).

Black mirror caps also.

Superskoda sell the black grille and mirror caps.

The old ones clip off and the new ones back on.

Grille is a bit trickier. You have to prise the old one off in pieces. Then clip the new one in.

Black Pack for an UK combi is, Gloss black roof rails, Black Magic grille surround and mirror caps.

Black pack also includes privacy glass, and the black pack plus includes 19" Extreme alloys and colour maxi dot in addition to std black design pack.

Black pack also includes privacy glass

No it doesn't. I've had 2 with black pack and privacy glass has never been included.

Thanks chaps.

The mirror covers I can get painted in gloss black, is the grill surround an all together trickier job?

Just checked and mine already has the black roof rails and has no chrome around the windows, just made a topic with pictures: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/409074-race-blue-mk3-octavia-vrs-estate/

Your roof rails wont be gloss black though if it doesn't have the black pack they will be just standard black plastic style

That's the black pack plus, think OP is referring to the standard black pack.

Ooooh, sorreee, I thought the standard black pack also included privacy glass, my bad. :p

Black Sport Package not on the vRS.

The UK VRS has no chrome around the windows anyway so that's not part of the black pack either.

But it is another  "Black" option on other models

The OP is asking what the black pack consists of on the VRS.

Thanks for the replies guys.

The black grill surround is my next item on the list.

Is a Skoda dealership parts department likely to whack a few quid on the cost of the black pack items? I can of course purchase from the dealership or SuperSkoda...the dealership is calling me back with prices for the grill surround and mirror covers.

I found the grill to be cheaper from the dealer by about £10 but that was two years ago now...

I replaced the grille this weekend and by god is it a pain in the ass.

In the end, the simplest solution is to work your way round from the outside (you can see the silver tabs along the bottom without even opening the bonnet) with a sharpened Flathead screwdriver and a hammer, pull the bottom half out and then pull hard and shatter. The silver plastic us much more brittle than the mounting points so less risk of breaking.

Thanks for the replies guys. My local dealership is charging me £42 for the pair of gloss black mirror covers and £42 for the gloss black grill surround. They offered to fit the grill surround for an extra £85 so I'm sure they are aware how much of a pain it is. I pick my parts up on Friday :)

Should be interesting...thanks for the heads up mate.

Yes, it's the Black Pack Plus with the 19s.  Has a colour maxi dot too, for some weird reason.
