Can't remember which magazine it was, may have beem Autocar, but they had a vRS on long term test. The car was standard, but during performance testing, they achieved 0-60 times of 8.0 seconds consistently, and one amazing time of 7.3!, Skoda's own quoted figures are 9.5s 0-62mph.

Sad that he felt such a need to demonstrate how quick it it! For me the appeal is the fact that most people are not aware of what its capable of doing. That was one of the many reason I chose one, after being raced against in my Mini and A3 I wanted something quick but discreet, and a car boy racers would ignore.

The only reason he could get to 60 in 7 sec. was because he'd siphoned all his washer fluid out. Old-skool trick
