Nice - though I still think the Panamera is a deeply ugly vehicle.

I don't think it's as bad in the flesh, and it's not as ugly as the Cayenne.

No idea what the appeals about these monstrous 4x4s (Cayenne, F-PAce, Bentayga) they've all fallen out the ugly tree imho and hit every branch on the way down.

Other than sheiks, who needs an SUV version of a Bentley?

No one needs a Bentley so if they've got the money to buy a Bentley SUV why not?  Although I agree it's pig ugly, I suspect money doesn't buy taste.

Wasn't a blue one George it was a delightful metallic beige.

Is that the 'lovely' Viv treating herself to another motor?

I was today years old when I discovered you can buy a brand new MkI or MkII Escort.

I know we are going off topic to Porsches, but they have been building brand new mk1 and mk2 Escorts for several years now.  However, they are in development in producing a brand new Metro 6R4 in the next year or so. I think I've read it will will have a Audi derived engine, not a Rover V64V.

I worked on the revamp of the original development 6R4 to create the group B vehicle in around 1985.

The original looked pretty much like a standard Metro, the tyre manufacturer announcing that they would only be producing a limited range of compounds in the then 13" (I think) for the following season prompted a frantic redesign to accomodate the larger wheels and lengthen the wheelbase,  it ended up looking like it was on steroids.

I still have some A0 dyeline prints of the original styling sketches.

All a blur Toot, the original sleeper looking one had done one or two seasons then came the revamp for the Group B monster, I did find an article on the net which I posted on here, perhaps its amongst my saved favorites.

This one?

I've always wanted to see it, but the two times I've been to Gaydon (Brisky National meets) the car hasn't been there. ☹️ I have always said the best stealth sleeper car would be a Maestro or Montego 6R4 as they are longer and wider than a metro. 😎

The article is slightly wrong, 6R4 means 6 cylinder Rally 4wd as it has a mid engine, not rear.
