How do I change battery

Featured Replies

After nine years the battery on my  2007 reg.Roomster 1.6 petrol has died.  I though it simple to replace battery and bought a new one.  Horrors when attempting to make change  I cant see how to get the cover with wires off of the battery.  I can undo terminal  connectors and bottom holding nut.  I have searched for a workshop manual with no success  Can anyone tell me how I can fix or where I can get hold of a manual?

Thanks

Take a look at the video below. It is referred to Polo 1.2 Tsi, but I think this will help you.

Just bought a new 096 battery for mine today; 77ah, CCA 740 - previously £135 but today with a healthy discount only £86 of your english pounds at ECP

Let's hope the bugger fits!

Standard puny 027 sized 60Ah, 540CCA removed, the mutant sized 096 does fit - my that battery box is a little sausage to remove!

The car now feels better, sharper and runs down to 30mph in 5th so perhaps this process reset the ECU ?

Anyway, I am now ready for whatever type of winter the Daily Mail predicts :)
