It does completely change the whole driving experience, I've never had so much fun on twisty A roads :)

Hellfire, Did you just buy it from Diesel geek Direct, or through another source? Was it just the sigma six speed VW kit you purchased? Im sorely tempted as I think the travel in the gearshift is massive compared to my other car, and reckon this would sort it fine.

Thanks

Dangerous of me to say this, but........... Group buy anyone??? :D

oh I just spent £500 on my car today, without even leaving the house :(

God bless the internet

It'd be better if JBS did a group buy on this to include fitting :)

i'm tempted but wouldn't want to fit it myself

They are a complete doddle to fit as the instructions are excellent.

Just follow the steps and you won't go wrong.

You would be better contacting Jim at Dieselgeek once you have finalised numbers, he may reduce the price a little depending on numbers.

I'm with robby on this one. If it's a sensible price inc. fitting, I'm in.

Shall we start a list? Let's see who's interested...

2. Mike VRS

3. Devonutopia (you in J?)

4. Walkie (you too?)

I'll have a go if we can get a good price on it. Let me know if you want any help organising it.

I'll get in touch with them and find out if we can get a bit of a discount...

Will let you know then!

Gents,

I've received an email from jim at dieselgeek on the GB. He says that he will give a 10% discount for 10 or more shortshifters so long as the advertisment is not posted on any VW forums and that all shifters must be sent to one address and paid for by one person. As such, I don't think it is really worth it given postage costs this side of the country.

Postage costs for the standard unit to the UK per unit are $33 so all in cost for purchase on an individual basis would be around the £130 when converted to pounds sterling. Hope this helps...

Go on then, I'll start a list!

Well, Im still up for getting one whether with a GB or not, I suppose seeing as im in N.I. You might want to exclude me fro the GB as postage would be high an unavoidable extra ontop of getting them delivered to an England address, If there is a way to get discount but get them to individual addresses im in, but, it would probably be cheaper for me to buy direct I reckon unfortunately.

Aren't they coming from the States anyway?

Regardless, get your name down!

I think its wise to start a new thread - whoever is organising should PM Mike (flatfourburble) too.

They would be coming from the states and for GB purposes, they would be dispatched together after one person has paid... When they come through customs, they will also be taxed which said person will also have to pay for. He/she will then have to pay for distribution to all other GB'ers.

As such, I really don't think it is worth the effort to arrange a GB when there is going to be relatively little in the way of savings. You're probably better just getting your own - a bit of a logistical nightmare arranging for 10 or more buyers!

OK then, sounds reasonable.

May just have to order one direct then!

UNLESS there are 10 people who want one, then I'll arrange it? Unlikely to get 10 interested by the sounds of it though.
