Pedals on vrs

Featured Replies

Hi

can anybody tell me if all the pedals on the vrs are matching ie Rubber and metal?

as mine has the clutch pedal pad missing, when i asked at the dealership when i picked my brand new Octavia vrs230 up they stated

" they dont fit the rubber and metal pad to the clutch" i told them that it does not even have a rubber pad let alone a matching one, again he said skoda dont fit them  any more to the cluch and also the brake pedal in an automatic

Thoughts Please

Mine all match.

Just been out to look at my 230 for you, Mines a Manual and all 3 pedels are metal with rubber inserts.

I would think just metal would be a safety  issue as theres no grip on the pedal,

Your dealer is talking boll0cks, take it back........................

Would you like a picture ?

lol..... I can't believe they had the nerve to say the cars only come with pedal rubbers on two of the three pedals!!!! :D :D :D

Let us know what they say when you prove them wrong...... I'd be tempted to bring the matter of that particular person's incompetence up with a manager while I was there also.

The thing is you call the Principal Dealer and have them arrange to come to you and put the car as it should be because an employee or several were lax and muppets,

or they pay your hourly rate and fuel to go to them to put right their error.

Good luck with managing to obtain either of those!

You get exactly that when you talk to a Principal Dealer or the Group Manager,

or when you contact Skoda UK Customer Services and let them know what a Dealership Employee tried to palm you off with.

The new this year Skoda UK Brand Manager might be in charge of an organisation with Official Dealerships that have employees that will tell customers any old crap,

but they need to improve that and the power of the internet now catch out these that if they do not know the answer just make one up.

The New Brand Manager has been long enough with Skoda & VW and now back at Skoda UK that he needs to get a grip

of where there is pathetic customer service.

PS,

If a pedal rubber is missing after a Post Delivery Valet and PDI then best be sure you check and set your own tyre pressures and reset the TPMS,

and maybe check the torque of the wheel bolts all around.

Thanks everybody   contacted the sales rep yesterday and told him to look on this web site, but he is still adamant that they are made and delivered like that for the vrs 230 so he wont do anything about it, I know  and you all know that there lying, even the manager is backing him saying the same.

all ready had a serious argument with her over the £500 fuel card she offered it to me on the original deal, but when I picked up the car she insisted it wasn't part of the deal, as luck goes at this point I had not paid my deposit balance and refused too, unless she added the £500 as promised, the bitch is giving me a cheque for the said amount as I was walking out the door.

I really don't trust them any more

will keep you all informed as it develops.

Thanks again

If you suspect the car has not been pdi,ed then i would check they have removed the transport blocks, all of them.

Also i think its ridiculous not having any rubber on the clutch depending on the grip, when wet could lead to feet sliping off, and the brake too.

Come on then name and shame her. Or maybe best not yet, how about naming the Dealership / Group?

There are plenty of male Sales Executives that mess up, but there are posts on one particular Sales Executive that does it on a regular basis.

It is nice when finely they have to eat humble pie, and in this case the lady is going to have to.

So deal in writing with the Dealer Principal.

Get the matter resolved by them selling you the car you paid for with all the parts that come as standard.

Once I have the said cheque in my hand I will be Name her and the dealership.

Pedals are put on at pdi point. Sometimes they get "lost" in transit.

My 220 DSG came with only rubber Pedals. It was the only thing I didn't check before signing the form. Got half way home before I noticed.

Called the dealer and they ordered me a full set and apologised.

Simple solution = happy customer that has gone back providing more business.

You get these in the sales/ show room that can not even communicate with the Work Shop Manager or Technicians or just tell lies as a profession and it becomes a habit.

They do check vehicles off transporters and should before hand overs and when simple things become an argument you wonder at their ability to handle complex issues.

Print off the photo I posted.  Ring another dealer and ask them.

The pedal rubbers should be fitted at the factory, the only time they are delivered to the dealer missing is when they've not been fitted or have been removed in transit. We had a spate of them turning up with them missing, nothing on the pedals at all - no rubber - no metal and without any anti slip cover on the brake pedal it becomes a justified safety issue and MOT failure.

What a difference in dealerships! When I ordered my vRS end July I hadn't even realised there was a 'Big Event' on (ear muffs on, as well as dark glasses). A week after placing my order the salesman telephoned to tell me he had managed to get me the 750 fuel card - a good call and nice surprise. Happy to tell you it was Rainsworth Skoda and I now have my fuel card. By the way, seems very suspicious about giving you a cheque for something which should't really cost the dealership anything other than a bit of administration, so make sure the money is in your account before you walk away with a smile on your face.

Also speak to Skoda UK telling them that the dealership are telling you that the vRS doesn't come with any form of pedal rubber / cover. I'd be surprised if Skoda UK don't side with you on this one.

I'm another Rainworth ŠKODA customer and can confirm a great level of service from both sales and service
