Auto Start-Stop only does half the job!

Featured Replies

Maybe the VAG should provide all owners with a free vcds cable and software to allow us to reprogramme the car if we change battery or allow kwik **** to do the job on our behalf.

I think that applies to ALL new cars since the whole adoption of stop start tech for Euro emissions, all have to have a battery monitor module to enable the S/S mode, therefore you fit new battery you have to tell it a new one has ben fitted (change one digit on serial no entry) otherwise the car has to relearn over several ignition cycles that a new battery is fitted.

Fit a different type & capacity to what was installed (like I did) & you have to change two more lines of programing.

VCDS is cheap considering the cost of these cars! I've had my cable for several years & have used it on various Fabias, Octavia, Audis, Golfs, from 14yrs old to brand new! & have done coding of replacement ABS units to full re-write of Xenon headlamp & DRL dimming & usage
