closing boot

Featured Replies

hi - just got a 2014 skoda octavia. it has manual boot only. wife is finding quite hard to have to reach up to close the boot. next to the boot latch there is some sort of plastic handle. is this for pulling the boot down or is it something as part of boot locking mechanism and needs to be not used!

ta

:D

The rubber strap is for closing the boot, if you're talking about the combi that is.

Also rubber strap in hatchback - at least there is on my 2012 vRS.

My mk11 Octavia Hatch had a rubber dongle hanging from the inside lip of the boot - purely for pulling the boot down and I found it an essential aid to remove tip toe stretching when closing the boot.

The Mk3 has the same.

Combi and hatch have them. Works quite well and I've not nutted anything yet. I cant imagine anyone around 5 foot or shorter managing to reach.

and the mk1 too (not rubber though, it was fabric).  Wow, to think they kept such a good idea right from the start  :D
