Park Pilot screen

You get this on the L&K with the self park doings. Haven't been brave enough to try it yet!

Was in a car park with spaces n lots of room so had to try it, slotting into a space rather than parralel parking....worked great, was weird tho'

Probably won't use the function much but can see how useful it will be in certain situations - believe it can be used to get out if a space! But I could be wrong

Did it go in forwards or back into the car park space? Forwards I hope!!

Backwards so could drive out

Do you get a choice as to whether reverse in or go forward into the space? If you only get to reverse in then it is pretty useless. As a woman parked next to me one Saturday said to her husband " only a man would be stupid enough to reverse into a supermarket parking space" - as she and he struggled to carry a trolleys worth of shopping bit by bit squeezing down the side of their car to get the shopping loaded in the boot!

I think it's the only useful way to reverse in for you, if we cannot drive in forward with the sensors helping we should not be driving.

It's not just supermarkets that bay parking is used, what about probably 95% of normal car parks?

You have to think outside the box.

Of course you are right that if you can't park your car you shouldn't really be driving it. I would apply that to reversing into a parking space as well as driving in forwards. I await the day when carparks all have herringbone parking; safer, easier, and more efficient. Incidentally in the USA when I lived there most car parks had signs saying "heads-in parking only" woe betide anyone who reversed in!

...And park inside it

I love boxes, particularly large ones.

Reminds me of when I was a boy. Granddad now, but still love boxes.  :D

What were we talking about,....O yes Fred?

You are very brave! My intention was to hire a car locally in the Amalfi area. On arrival I looked at all the banged-up cars and how the locals seemed to drive by 'feel' and gave up on the idea. I trust you got away with it?

Just about. We had a couple of very close shaves with coaches on the coast road and several on other roads with those battered cars, which will overtake even with oncoming traffic.

I just followed the lead of the cars in front and moved right, out of the way.
