STOP THE PRESS - There's a DPF Retrofit Kit for the Fabia Mk1 !

Featured Replies

Part number is

6Q0254800GX

Found on ETKA - shows as being for most of the engine codes, BLT included.

Just wondering if anyone had heard anything about this, seems a little odd - why would you want to retrofit it unless it reduces your tax band to £0 a year  :D

Yes I've seen this listed before.

I assume that it is for some cities that don't allow "dirty" diesels.

If local legislation in the country/city you live changes to require it?

Wouldn't make any difference to tax band if calculated on CO2 emissions.

Really can't see that being a proper DPF,as how would it clean itself?

As DPF fitted cars have a cleaning cycle they do to burn out the soot caught in the DPF :)

ECU remap to go with it presumably?

And a rewire for the exhaust temp and pressure sensors.

I like my miltek decat too much :P

When the LEZ came in, they gave people with older vans the option to fit a DPF so they could still use them in London.

No one did, because the generous offer also had to have it inspected annually, for which, of course, there was a "small" charge.... about £200-300 per inspection.

ECU remap to go with it presumably?

As above,and extra sensors?

The parts pic above looks just like the CAT,wondering if it's just worded incorrectly saying it's a DPF,or is the CAT shown as a different part number?

I think you might be onto something there.  According to the way it's described here it's a combination of cat and dpf, sort of a half-assed dpf, maybe? Not requiring active regens?

Might make it easier to decat in future :giggle:
